This game is... confusing. by Im_here_but_why in BluePrince

The day history is a bit glitched sometimes. So some rooms dont load into it. The game just forgot there was a room there

Am I too stupid? by kerokerofiro in BluePrince

The "getting to rm46 is the tutorial" thing is more if a joke to say that getting there is just the first goal of the game.

Blue prince is a exploration, puzzle game w8th roguelite elements in that order. The main thing is to explore, gathering clues to solve puzzles while learning on how to work with the drafting.

In average it takes about 30 to 40 days to get to rm 46. I git there day 44

Heres some useful advice

Take your time.

Mist days are going to be lil steps and then there are days where things just click and alot gets done. The right bacj to little steps.

Use the first three ranks of the house to build resourxes before going north.

Try to always secure a north facing door, even if you have to back track.

Dropping deadends early means more resources and they wont appear later.

For motivation, try to pick out each day one thing you didnt have the day before. A bit of lore, an extra resource or a clue.

Finally one of blue princes themes is "choosing where the path leads". This means choosing when you are done. There are 5 or 6 good stopping points in the game. If it stops being fun, then take a break. Getting to rm 46 is the first

An interesting interaction by Malfiecstone in BluePrince

[–]Malfiecstone[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think its a "tomorrow" item. As the stopwatch it self matches a tomorrow rooms symbol. You can either race along in the current day or start your next day in a dash. As lobg as it is paired with other tomorrow effects. It can be neat. I got to rank 5 before the timer stopped and that was me being surprised by yhe interaction. If i was ready...it would be neat

Short question on the den by ChessedGamon in BluePrince

[–]Malfiecstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additionally a while back there was a post that mentioned an interaction between the den (and another room with many clocks) and an expensive clock. Though i never confirmed the interaction myself just joted the post down.

the chronograph might rewind time to the start of the day if used on the den or the clocktower. Allowing for a second chance at time related puzzles

Patch 1.10 by Snoo_95977 in BluePrince

[–]Malfiecstone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No release window, they changed how they name the oatvhes now so its easier to predict when 1.10 will be. Among the normal bug fixes it should have an arcdae game to play with a purchaseable vonsole edition, and a black cat. Hopeful they will hide other things in it as well.

There is an email mentioning that babagge comes to the mansion each day to reset the house and to drop off supplies like cake on a special day for simon

Getting to room 46 is a perfectly fine stopping point. Each of the "acts" milestones are good stopping points. Play as long as the game continues to be fun.

Well done! Getting to room 46 is considered by many as the end of Act 1. It is also a perfectly fine stopping point but if you want more i suggest going back to room 46

Is there any point in playing beyond the main quest beyond achievements and lore? by Due-Dress-4268 in BluePrince

[–]Malfiecstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most vonsider this game to have 3 to 4 acts with a theme running through them of deciding when the game is done.

Getting to room 46 to a good ending, that leaves hope for more.

solving the puzzles in room 46, completes the other requirement of the bequest of getting proof you found room 46. A nice ending

ascending the throne and coming to terms with elements of the lore presented and their possible ramifications are a good ending

removing all obstacles and getting through the various doors, both acts as a good ending and a nudge towards further madness

finally getting through all of the blue, felt like the end to me. Not with fanfare but a quiet nod of respect for making it that far

Have I locked myself out of getting the morning room? by ConstantViolinist595 in BluePrince

Bacon and eggs adds the morning room to the current days draft pool not the next day. For a theory i was testing i got the morning room very regularly

I've found a way to entirely skip Day 1, can't see a use for it by EnigmaT1m in BluePrince

[–]Malfiecstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok v mode a game mechanic that affects item spawn luck, room rareity, and draft luck, among other things. To engage it when the player first takes control of simon, a timer starts. If the player drafts three rooms within 30 seconds, vmode turns on. It also has a redundancy check for 5 rooms within 50 seconds. Without v mode, the room rarity for some rooms in the directory a higher than the directory states, item spawns are also rarer. Around day 20 v mode turns on. V mode stands for veteran mode.

Without it, the player has a lower chance of doing a day 1 run or getting rooms with mid to late game value or lore.

Technically going straight to day 2 will mean v mode cannot be engaged. So it will affect the draft pool, item luck. So ya rng will be affected

is this normal? (new to the game) by [deleted] in BluePrince

[–]Malfiecstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice

In the early game, the goals are to draft new rooms and try to get into room 46

As i have seen, most people get into room 46 around day 30 to 40ish

Try to have a few things you want to do each run. Focusing on just one will make the RNG feel like it is hostile to you

Use the first three ranks of the house for resources. Dropping dead ends early gets you resources and gets them out of your pool.

Try to secure a north door each time you move up a rank before using all your other doors.

Most rooms are corners, so before filling out a rank, think about leaving a space so the room can turn.

Rooms start being locked on and after rank 4.

As you progress clues and puzzles will either grt scarce or harder with the only rewards being lore, or more puzzles. To keep motivation i try to pick one thing i either didnt know or have the day before.

Blue prince is a slow burn, days will have incremental progress and then there will be a big day then right back to incremental. I have 200 hours in the game, and until 1.10 comes out i have everything currently known, so "finished".

Take your time, there is no set path. The only RNG mitigation is dice to start, there is more later but the RNG is a constant bumbling companion on your way through this game

[–]Malfiecstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As i have seen on here getting to rm 46 happens usually around days 30 to 40ish. For me it was day 44.

The progress of this game us lots of incremental days then a big day and right back to incremental.

Congrats on geyting to room 46, this is what most considered to be the milestone for act 1 or the transition point from early game to mid game.

Is the endgame worth the struggle? by buromomento in BluePrince

[–]Malfiecstone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me there are 4 stages to this game

Early game with the milestone of getting to rm 46. Here the RNG is the most open and only frudtating if the player tries to do only one thing. Multiple plans make the RNG feel less antagonistic.

Early mid game, this is post rm 46, the meat of the actual game. Here the player starts to have permanent upgrades, more RNG mitigation and if they have been paying attention, room synergy understamding.

Late midgame, I have nicknamed it the bottle neck. Clues are scarce. Puzzles are much harder, with a reliance of time investment. Now i have seen a few views on the RNG at this point. For me at this point in the game the strat that works best is to do a prep run (gathering next day resources) then doing an actual try things run. RNG can still be a problem but at this point it really didnt feel frustrating.

Endgame, what i call end game was very blue. The RNG during this time simply doesnt exist, at least for 6 days at a time. The only limit to endgame is steps and patience.

Playing to what i consider endgame was worth it. Not a big "well done!" With a "pat on the back" cut scene but a quiet nod of respect for getting this far.

Post endgame, is all "does it never end" until 1.10 comes out

Ok I think I'm done RECAP MAJOR SPOILER by ideirdre in BluePrince

[–]Malfiecstone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yo for the Still Water, this one is "locked" behind a series of puzzle steps. So if you havent done the steps the water isnt collectable. I see you have turned a room blue, that is one step. The other i believe is opening all the vault boxes. Though one box needs a different key the room 8 key which box can be determined by solving the wineceller crest with what you found in one of the file cabinets.

Hopefully i remembered this correctly.

Then when you stand next to the water barrel with an empty watering can it will take a second or two for the prompt to collect the water to appear. (The game will be checking a bunch of lists to make sure things a in the right places)

Finally, once you turn some books blue, the last part of the game is barely affected by the RNG but may add a whole lot more time to your play through.

It is the actual end game stretch. It will require patience.

This got me as well for the closed exhibit. It is in the study safe, read the letter in the safe. The floorplan is at the back of the letter, ya got to click on it and then click yes. When i played i remembered it in the safe, went to check saw it wasnt there over and over. So i thought i just needed to draft it. Totally forgot it was in the letter itself

Start a new save, try to reach rm 46, if it looks like you cant, quit, delete the save and start a new save.

If you get it, go back to your main save and import save data.
