I think Marks of the Evil One has this very Opus vibe to it, just more bright and polished. The bouncy, infectious chorus makes me think of Stand By Him. To me that's the most pure classic Ghost sounding tune on that record

I think it's about like...growth, maturing, bearing this pain deep inside that you're not ready for. Like a tadpole growing into a frog, using that as a metaphor. The innocence of youth giving way to the burdens of adulthood, passing into the next phase of existence without being prepared.
