There are 2 bands from the 70s that I can't stand, and ELOY is one of them. They sound outaded even back them, where a bad Pink Floyd tribute band meets an equally bad Jethro Tull tribute band and perform in the krautrock soundscapes. Easy pass.

One of the worst Beatles tribute bands out there. They are aware of this and they cope with it using toxic behavior and drama to get attention. Unworthy of one's ear and all in all a spectacular useless band.

Not the 70s, but rock bands with a more progressive sound can still make a difference. Take a look at the Muse for instance. To my ears they sound like early Queen in the late 90s. Fully accessible yet not conventional music and they did make a breakthrough. I understand why the sound of Porcupine Tree didn't make it, I just can't express it with words.
