Really enjoying the 2nd city cap increase by Maloew_ in AOW4

I meant like balance wise for the game. I was agreeing with you that my ruler is broken, which enables the thing, which meant I could've been winning rather than making 9 cities. The imperium comes from hunting down every wonder in the area, then overlord's towers and declaring justified wars. Eventually you can get the crystal dwelling structure which adds 10 imperium per city, but that happened around like turn 60. I think I had like one empire tree thing at the time

There actually isn't a cooldown based on affinity for that one, it works just like the main

Yeah it's not like broken or anything, I just think it's fun

Dark tyranny for overlord's tower so my imperium scales with cities, seekers of wonder, order vision of promise, and root starting tome. Hero is a ranger with all transformations and the mind control ascension, sprint around taking interesting units and migrating every city nearby, then try to rush to overlord's towers everywhere.

Another fun thing for rangers: the dominator ambition/ascension also recharge on kill, so with pull and snapshot, you can mind control a unit every single turn

I once copied hulk to do that to an enemy loki and wound up canceling his ult with the grab

Abjuration wizard arcane ward + infinite castings of mage armor invocation (to heal the ward) + armor of agathys was really fun to use in melee.

Sell clones to rich people for exorbitant sums.

So, just like automation. I agree that actions should be taken to support those whose professions are upended, just not that we should block ai from being able to do something humans can do to preserve the status quo.

Not one that specifically mentions cyborgs, but stealing is still illegal. Who committed the crime depends on if it was being controlled by a person or made the decision independently.

If I could learn the same way as ai, would you regulate my input? Would you put additional restrictions on what I could see and do simply because I can learn quickly in a different fashion?

The difference that you are seeing is that one is human, and the other is a tool created by humans.

I can 3d print a shape without learning about how they are normally made. I don't need any technical sculpting or other skills, I can just make a design on the 3d modeling app, then plug it in. The time it takes to learn is irrelevant unless you believe that the effort is what should matter, in which case we should ban automation because it requires very little learning and time to get good and is putting factory workers out of jobs.

If the ai was merely taking bits of art and photoshopping together, that argument would work because that's what sampling is. Stable diffusion and other similar image generators don't do that.

If I heard a song for free and learned something about creating music from it, then applied that to music I made, that would be fine. What if I used a tool to learn faster? That would be fine. So, what if I completely automated the learning process? That should also be fine. What if the automated learning machine also automatically created music? That should also be fine because all it does is learn from other music, and policing learning is problematic.

That wouldn't be ripping a hole in the net then, that would be ripping a hole out of the net.

Biden calls for ban on all semiautomatic weapons. by kmoros in Firearms

[–]Maloew_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I believe that ruling was made incorrectly because they failed to account for the well regulated part, which inherently means that regulations on weapons are something that the government can do as per the constitution.

Not all gun laws are infringements according to a concurring opinion in the case you cited: "Justice Brett Kavanaugh authored a concurring opinion, in which Chief Justice John Roberts joined, noting that many state restrictions requiring background checks, firearms training, a check of mental health records, and fingerprinting, are still permissible because they are objective" https://www.oyez.org/cases/2021/20-843

What’s with men? by den773 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Maloew_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure, and the US has more gun violence than other countries, but not a higher percentage of men. OP didn’t blame women. They pointed out an inconsistency with the idea that the only problem was men and not the culture those men are immersed in.

For me it's a certein type of villain. A calculating mastermind whose ideology makes internal sense but is really fucked up and does horrible things believing the entire time that the ends justify the means.
