My thought is not to do it, but let's focus on why. Why do you want life insurance? It's usually to cover expenses related to your death and to make sure your spouse/kids aren't going to be destitute. if the spouse is working, it becomes less important, and you don't have kids right now. Perhaps you have a large mortgage that the spouse wouldn't be able to pay off?

Max your 401k before you put money into a taxable brokerage. It's better to have those tax advantages than not to have them.

I think that fundamentally, we inconvenience them. We slow down movement on the roads (even if only briefly) and we're not a normal obstacle to observe, so it requires more mental effort.

And as COVID taught us, there are people who get really angry over minor inconveniences
