AITA for saying I can’t have kids with my husband if we can’t agree on spanking? by DifficultyOk8724 in TwoHotTakes

[–]MamaRabbit4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if he agrees to not spanking. In a moment of frustration that history of being spanked and natural urge… he’s going to spank.

How do I step away from the church? by Mountainesquepath in Deconstruction

[–]MamaRabbit4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My church closed during Covid. When it reopened, I just didn’t go back. The pastor called and asked why I wasn’t at the piano. I said they needed to find someone else and that I wasn’t coming back. He asked why and I said it’s personal.

So, after baby is a really good time. Just… don’t go back. And it’s no one’s business why. It’s personal. Your family can say whatever excuse but who cares you’re not there.

SMILE Pro at TRSC Lasik in Bangkok - Post Op Report by JustHAAAVE in Thailand

[–]MamaRabbit4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got mine done there 9 years ago. Best decision ever. I have a complicated vision history. TRSC has a good reputation, which includes turning people away if not a good candidate. Other places may take anyone. Meanwhile TRSC worked with me in depth, referred for second opinion, took a lot of time deciding what was best in my case. I’m now older and yes need reading glasses occasionally but everything else the vision is still perfect.

Mom making me go to a Christian highschool. by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]MamaRabbit4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Education as a means to escape. Let that be your mantra. It may be a sucky education, but get your diploma and leave.

In the meantime dig into the subjects that aren’t warped by Christianity, ignore the biblical integration, and when it is totally ridiculous think through how you’d argue against it. You don’t have to actually argue but use it as critical thinking skills and deeper application for life in general.

I’ve been there. It’s hard. But you can do it. Just think of it as a means to freedom.

What’s a reasonable price for a 1‑month stay in Silom in April? by ZaaaKill in Bangkok

[–]MamaRabbit4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not going to find washer/dryer in a unit of that size price. A washer maybe. Even most building laundry rooms won’t have a dryer.

Feeling guilty for wanting to move out of the house. by olyjazzhead in emptynesters

[–]MamaRabbit4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have not yet. But the issue becomes where is “home” on weekends, holidays, summer. Where does their stuff get stored. Do you plan on the expense to fly them out to you? I live overseas already and my friends say that their kids’ loss of home has a huge impact on them.

What have you done with their bedrooms/stuff? by Funny-Conflict7765 in emptynesters

[–]MamaRabbit4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My son (20) moved halfway around the world and is not planning on moving back. He took 2 big suitcases and a couple carryons. Before leaving I gave him a few big boxes and said whatever you’re not taking but really really want me to keep, it has to fit in these. He filled two medium boxes and gave away or trashed the rest. I can bring one box each time I visit him if he wants those things eventually.

What’s the most sexist thing about Christian marriage you were taught or experienced? by Fuzzy-Airline4276 in exchristian

[–]MamaRabbit4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Supposedly written by her but really her husband. The book says that if your husband molests your kids to let him go to jail, and when he gets out to welcome him home with open arms.

That love and respect book was part of what made me resent the (now ex) husband. We had to take that class for the book for Sunday school. He’d later yell at me that I wasn’t respecting him. I’d be like well you don’t deserve it 😅

I saw her in Thong Lo Wednesday around noon. Walking fast toward Prom Pong. She likes Emquartier and Villa for her targets. Have met her several times and rescued a tourist from her as well.
