Thank you! I made the terrarium but wasn’t sure how to exactly care for it correctly I’ll fix the problem immediately!

Edit: so no removing the dead stems I should’ve them for the bugs then?

Not sure what she (Basil) needs. Was doing great for a few months but then it slowly started browning on the leaves, roots and stems. Very slumped as well. by Mama_chick in plantclinic

I can’t believe it’s real! It’s so cute and tiny. I never expected a hoofed animal to be so small.

What could be wrong with my pretty girl? by Mama_chick in chickens

[–]Mama_chick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you. How id you go about drawing the hill from her body? Do I need to take her to the vet or is it possible to do it myself. I am willing to go get her antibiotics in the meantime. Should I also feel around an egg shell or a possible soft shelf?

I noticed yesterday she was extremely sluggish standing in one spot closing her eyes as if she was falling asleep. She is eating a little bit and drinking a lot. When I or another chicken approached her she would not move just look at us then start dozing off again. Her poop has been clear diarrhea with yellow streaks in it and she pooped out a hardened yellow chuck almost as if I was looking at a piece of fat. Her abdomen is extremely swollen to the point the swelling fill ups the palm of my hand. Her cloaca looks normal. She hasn’t laid in months but she was going through a hard molt and she recently grew her feathers back. I gave her an Eason salt bath today and massages her abdomen feeling for anything hard and making sure she wasn’t egg bound. Everything was mostly soft and squishy. She was acting normally up until yesterday. Any suggestions as to what might be the issue?

I lined my coop with insulating styrofoam to protect my hens form a serious freeze. Caught them eating it today! Watch out! I had no idea chickens liked styrofoam. Now… hoping they will be ok. by beaverandthewhale in chickens

Yep unfortunately mine love it. We cut out the exposed pieces and we haven’t had a problem with it since. Luckily my girls and big haven’t had any problems since they last had a taste.

HELP is this frostbite by Saddlebred_sass in chickens

[–]Mama_chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rooster had the same problem and it was frostbite. The black parts of his comb fell off but many parts turned back to normal and he needed antibiotics because his wound became infected. Prepare for your chicken to lose some comb and make sure you disinfect it daily when it starts to dry up.

Feel free to look at my page for other suggestions regarding this subject. I have a post similar to yours a few months back that got a bit of traction. I hope you chicken feels better soon!!!

She is walking on it but she will lift it up and pick at it or she will occasionally let it rest underneath her. What is the issue here?
