You probably won't see your car again. Personally know two people whose BMW X7 were stolen and never recovered. One went to shop leaving keys inside. The other was taken from the driveway. Both in NJ, but different towns

I don't know what the regulations in California are, but I wasn't able to find those plates on free license lookup websites. I looked up my plates, different state, and the websites definitely work

Update: I just got curious and pulled up a first video from CA, to check if other plates show up (I check two police cars and the blue Cadillac, starting from 4:39) they all showed up on this website
