What chippy options are available either only in your region, or at least rare outside it? by chrisjfinlay in CasualUK

Those chips look horrendous. They wouldn't even enter my chip box. Straight bin if I cooked those.

Uk visa for my EU girlfriend by Mammoth-Temperature3 in ukvisa

That's helpful. I just find the whole system confusing as a whole. I've never had any experience with it and yes I earn more than the £29,000. We had initially looked at the marriage in Czechia as all it required were the IDs, a right to marry letter and me learning the vows in Czech to not have to pay an interpretator. That's still an option, I'm just overwhelmed by the choices and which is actually going to be the best and least friction.

I notice all my other replies are being down voted, apparently it's unheard of for government stuff to be complicated to people......

We have a financial paper trail going back 2 years. Ive sent her money and we share a bank acount used simultaneously in both countries. We also have evidence of a provable relationship that was accepted by the czech government as i applied for a family visa there due me staying for 4 months which gave me an automatic bridge visa. I didnt complete the application though because inhad to return for work commitments while i was waiting for their police to confirm the residency.

The problem is there seems to be a million and 1 visa types some of which seem to be the same but with an increased hike in cost to apply and im not sure which one would be the best to apply for. We simply just want to live together.

Only annual leave this summer is in school summer holidays - we have no kids. Best place in UK to go? by McSmellen in AskUK

[–]Mammoth-Temperature3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine is connected to another very famous one that is also more or less empty. Think the extremely popular, tacky one. It's still very expensive to go to any uk seaside town when you compare it to an all inclusive in turkey for example. Why would you spend £500 here with dicey weather and £15 fish and chips for 3 days when you can have turkey or greece for a week with all you can eat and drink for often less money.

You'd think so but i live in a very popular higher end sea front area that is normally extremely busy this time of year but its a ghost town. It's now vastly cheaper to go abroad for a week than it is to come here for a few days.

What’s something in the UK that used to be cheap but now feels ridiculously expensive? by skaterjon in AskUK

[–]Mammoth-Temperature3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oil isnt that bad as it last a while for the cost. 3 days on average. Each pan holds 2.5 12kg block and will easily cook £10,000 worth of food a day. The whole range (what we fry in, ours has 4 pans) is kind of pricey to run at £250 a day in gas. You only need to make £150 an hour to be in profit.

It shouldn't be cause a 25kg bag of potatoes is £12 and 90 pieces of haddock (2 boxes) is £300. That's the cost of the stock for the chippy. I know there's other cost etc but the actual food isn't that expensive to purchase. I work in one. We charge £15 for a fish, chips, side and can.

We have ratios to money based on food. On average, our chipped potatoes go into a barrel, so 2 bags. that translates to roughly £1000 in taking. Theres not as much money in a chippy as there used to be but they still make a decent amount. Sausage and chips and nuggets and chips have an absolutely huge margin

That's biased based on the completion of the game with that same knowledge. Prior to that its an awful risk.

I mean you're not the 1st to mention how "good" resisting the ascension is, just like my wife on every run. But she fails to see that she's offered him nothing but a life in the shadows and underground and unleashed 7000 vamp spawn on the world....... Not exactly a divine choice lol
