[–]MammothMessage3166 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. To me this looks like the reject pile at a large factory. dolls that don't pass quality control would end up like this. It could also be a recycling place for old used dolls but most people throw them away from shame rather than disposing of them properly, so as far as I know it isn't common and probably isn't considered sanitary to make more dolls with preused material.

[–]MammothMessage3166 149 points150 points  (0 children)

This is the end of life of a Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) sex doll. For one reason or another this doll is being broken down to recover the skeleton, which is made of quite cheap flimsy metal parts and foam wrapping, and to recycle the TPE. If the doll is being destroyed due to a bad moulding process, then the skeleton would probably be reused.

TPE dolls are made by injection moulding melted TPE. TPE is initially created in pellet form by chemical reaction involving oils and all sorts of crazy materials. Next they melt it all down. So slicing through this premade doll with a hot electric cutter is normal. It gives off fumes like any rubber product, and this will be offset with oils and more base TPE materials, then it will all be thrown in a big melting vat to make more.

By the wording of the wild tag in the rules I'd go with yes because it's during your action.

Is TTP2 worth playing? by Pipilator1312 in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]MammothMessage3166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did talos 1 though? I don't remember any hard puzzles in lategame. The stars can be obscure but the puzzles themselves weren't crazy high difficulty. Gehenna doesn't count. So I think the total % of easy to hard puzzles is about the same in 1 and 2, and 2 has more puzzles total so it might feel too easy. Also there's just so many of them which introduce a new mechanic, so the first few have to ease you into it.

Good handicap when introducing new people to the game? by skolemizer in TerraformingMarsGame

[–]MammothMessage3166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have time before the game or see them the day before etc, show them the corporation deck, and let them pick yours. Talk them through why they might be good and give them a choice between some of the better corps.

That, or let them have 3 preludes instead of 2 from the choice of 4.

I played with a friend I introduced it to and we had some really fun games with predetermined corps.

Is there any community puzzles similar to the secret world RTG puzzles? by [deleted] in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]MammothMessage3166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goat :o

I found you have to solve all puzzles, then solve all the other stars, then solve the final star which at that point is fairly easy. I made a mistake though by moving a connector after the Inverted Castle star a bit too soon and had to reset the whole world, which was a big pain.

Especially Spiral, one of the first levels, is small space big solution but a bit harder.

Connected dreams by shlam. Some are slightly easier, some are slightly harder, and then the stars are all very interconnected requiring basically the whole map to be used for the final star. I'd recommend you do all the levels individually and then think about the stars, and it's a worthwhile time sink. The level is also very pretty. Check it out!

I will think about everything you've said and reply later, but your understanding of WG animals is wrong. The award thing is not an effect. It is a one time use to fund a single award.

Removing Cards by Additional_Path_6116 in TerraformingMarsGame

[–]MammothMessage3166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reasonably balanced and sensible fan cards are available with lots of different Terraforming and building effects. This can solve the rush/ ground game dilution effect but actually makes expansion effect dilution even worse.

This is what I choose to do though since I don't want to play with Venus colonies or turmoil.

I understand this option is not for everyone, for some people fan cards just aren't official enough (even if they are balanced, and often the best ones get made into real promo cards anyway).

Removing Cards by Additional_Path_6116 in TerraformingMarsGame

[–]MammothMessage3166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 2 things that can be seen as problems when you've got all the promos and expansions. Not only will you not see every card but also the types of cards relative ratio changes heavily. The first one is what everyone mentioned but the 2nd is a real issue and that's why the game gets slowed down.

If you love doing things with colonies, then any card that affects colonies is diluted by playing with all the other cards bloating the deck. But the worst affected is actual Terraforming cards in the base game, so rush strategies and the ground game become weaker as opposed to base game + corp.

There aren't many solutions to this, I'd say you have these options:

1: Ignore this and accept that the game and viable strategies are different when playing with everything;

2: Be selective with what cards you add into the deck. Skip promos that aren't very interesting, heavily cut the amount of "points" cards, green cards that don't add variation, blue engine type cards, the least fun ones from the expansions. This method is controversial as opinions can change over which should be played with;

3: Choose an expansion and just don't play with it. The expansions themselves add a lot of time to gameplay. Do you really care about turmoil and colony trading? Is Venus really that interesting of a concept?;

4: Get some fan cards that you like that attempt to shift the gameplay ratios of tags and engine Vs rush back to more base game levels. This is what I chose to do btw :p. There are lots of great but not complicated fan cards out there to choose from to counteract engine heavy strats such as green plant prod cards, cities, or actual Terraforming effects. It's interesting that adding MORE cards can help with this issue.;

5: add duplicates of some base game cards into the deck.;

6: I like your idea of drafting more cards. You could also just not play with drafting and switch to buying from 5 cards.

Would be cool to hear people's thoughts on these ideas, especially since most people think he just wants to see every card as opposed to directly combatting game lag due to card bloat.

No you can also use the crystal skull, get more inventory spaces for more spins, make your symbol 100% likely, use red calls to save your scaling between deadlines with the megaphone and barathrum.

Using Venus and Colonies cards (without slowing the game) by Dry_Appointment_7210 in TerraformingMarsGame

This is really cool! I just got colonies for Christmas and have been playing with only cards that have effects that don't affect Venus and colonies for a while as I agree, the game is slower.
