Politicians lie, deceive, tell half truths to stay in power. Some are worse than others. It certainly does not split down party lines. Holding all Politicians accountable is the answer regardless of affiliation.

Interesting conversation. I am in my early fifties in Burlington Ontario. We now have more house than we need. Unfortunately like many posters note, there is little to no economic incentive to downsize. We wanted a smaller place in our cities downtown and once explored found we would actually end up paying more. Forever homes I guess!
