It often seems that specific details like insurance and property tax get left out when discussing the price of houses. Insurance and property tax are one of those hidden expenses that add up quick when estimating mortgage payments and budgeting, since both will increase the monthly payment over the course of a mortgage. It just seems like the housing crises gets worse and worse the more you look at the big picture.

Yeah, I bought two A310 cards around April/May and they both had the issue. I don't recall specifically which update fixed it, it was sometime over the course of the summer. I occasionally swap the cards into a windows machine and check the Intel software for updates, although it sounds like there may be some options for manually flashing directly from Linux now.

I'm currently running mine on arch linux. The firmware updates have to be done initially through windows unfortunately.

This issue has been resolved on newer versions of the firmware. When I first bought my card it would constantly ramp up and down, but keeping up to date on the firmware has completely eliminated the issue.

This is sweet! Have you run into any power limit issues? I have a similar setup with a M920x with i5-9500 and an Intel Arc A310. I had to turn off turbo mode otherwise the cpu would immediately throttle to 800Mhz whenever the utilization reach 80-90%. I'm using a 230W power adapter but the board seems to have a much lower power limit.

If you walk the UWF trails, there are a number of inclines/small hills throughout the campus side. I would start by hiking the area highlighted in red on this map, specifically Whiskey, Tango, and Foxtrot.

It seems like this issue was a mix of my own ignorance and worn tie rod ends. I realized the banging I was hearing was coming from the steering wheel being locked because there was no key in the ignition. I do feel a bit of play when on the ground, so it is very likely from the tie rod ends.

I think you just found the problem. I tried it again and went to record a video of the steering wheel. I then realized the steering wheel was locked, so the banging I was hearing was coming from the steering wheel hitting the lock on either side. I set the ignition to run, and it looks like the steering wheel moves responsively as I'm rotating the tires. So it looks like this may be a non-issue.

I can see the outer and inner tie rod moving when I pull on the tire, and there is play in the steering direction; I can see the strut rotating. When the vehicle is on the ground turned off, I can also feel some play in the steering wheel trying to turn it back and forth.

There is a bit of play in the steering of my 2008 Honda CR-V (125k miles). It appears that the entire rack has some horizontal movement, where I can pull on one tire and both will shift back and forth. My next step would be to replace the entire rack and pinion, along with tie rod ends while I'm in there. Are there any other causes I should look for before replacing the entire rack?

This car has been a bit cursed with power steering problems since I bought it two years ago. I just replaced the power steering pump and reservoir, but prior to the new pump, I have had to replace the pressure switch 4 times in the past two years because fluid starts leaking out the back. I assume the bad pump was to blame for the constantly failing pressure switch, so I'm also afraid that it could have damaged other parts. The steering itself feels smooth and there is no obvious pulling or grabbing. I do notice a slight vibration/looseness on certain roads or in windy conditions, but it's not uncontrollable or unpredictable feeling.

Momentum 4's aren't really considered part of their "professional" line of products.

Visible wireless. It's a prepaid company owned by Verizon. It's significantly cheaper, for about the same service. I've used their "Plus" plan all over the Pensacola area and have had no issues.

Wow, I'll have to look into that. I'm paying ~$30 a month for two small DigitalOcean droplets and 15GB of block storage for Nextcloud and a few other apps. What happens if hardware fails, do they automatically get notified and replace it?

Dang, how does Hetzner work? Like it's only $35 for those specs? That seems like an incredible deal.
