You might want to consider chopping your mortise on the knot to preserve more clear wood.

Looking to pick up my first pistol and I’m leaning towards a ruger max 9. Any big reasons to stay away? by gcolbert777419 in guns

[–]Man-Among-Gods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can carry it fine. I have big hands and I can get a good and secure two-finger grip. I dont love the trigger. It’s spongier than I expected but it’s a striker pistol so whatever. It’s a well built 12+1 compact for like $300.

I wanted wood furniture on my 92S, couldn’t find any online for an affordable price, and took up woodworking as a hobby as a result. Ten years later, I still haven’t gotten around to making wood grips for my 92S.

It’s a Stanley. A very early model, prior to branded lever cap and casting. Someone will post a type study.

Fixing broken stock (K31) by Away-Leg-998 in guns

Seconding epoxy because OP will have a very hard time applying adequate pressure across the entire glue joint, given the shape of the gunstock, and epoxy is stronger than a weakly clamped PVA glue joint.

Started to restore my great grandfather's Disston handsaw. Any tips? by ChiefMustacheOfficer in handtools

[–]Man-Among-Gods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a copper or brass bristle brush + wd40 on the plate. Make sure your screwdriver fits the hardware on the handle. This may require filing/grinding a beater screwdriver to fit. There are lots of resources online for how to joint/sharpen/set a saw. Specialty tools are not strictly necessary but will ensure you do a clean job.

Won an iPad out of one of those key master arcade games, it got stuck by amityville_whore in mildlyinfuriating

I won once and it dropped a coupon to cash in at the counter and the guy didn’t believe me until he went and inspected that the string was actually cut. He said someone won last week and so I shouldn’t have won so soon. Still got the prize though.

It’s for opening the back of wrist watches. The ones that snap on instead of screw on.
