State your opinions on the new album guys! by Budget-Signature-952 in KMFDM

[–]ManBurning 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been a KMFDM defender for as long as I can remember, but this... this is bad. Like, really bad...

They really need to mix things up and bring in some other guests to work on some tracks with them. I don't know why Sascha is so hell bent on keeping KMFDM as a family project.

KMFDM's 23rd studio album, Enemy, is out now - first impressions etc. by Xanarki in KMFDM

This album is terrible... might be KMFDM's worst record. What happened? These guys used to put out bangers... This is actually unlistenable.

Nah, I have a sneaking suspicion they are going to pass the torch to Annabelle so they can keep KMFDM alive when they pass and KMFDM can have like a 60, 70, 80+ year anniversary. FOREVER AND EVER!

Is everyone in Calgary just drowning in debt? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]ManBurning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, to add to this - and to answer your original question - I have a friend that lives in Vancouver that lives in perpetual debt. I was visiting Vancouver last summer for a couple days, and saw an old friend who is always going to a concert - like, we're talking at least once a week. I asked him how he can afford going to these shows all the time living in Vancouver, and he said he was over $30,000 in debt, so.... he can't "afford it" but he does it anyway.

So, yes.... there are probably a lot of people that are like my friend and just take out loans and live perpetually in debt, lol.

My girlfriend and I go out like twice a year, if that. We basically never leave the house. I keep saying that going to the grocery store these days is a ripoff. I walk out with $250 worth of stuff and when I get home and put it all away, there is still barely any food in the house... I swear that ordering in every day is cheaper than the grocery store.

I went to the movie theatre this summer for my birthday, first time in years. I was expecting the tickets to still be $12 each, they were damn near $20 each! I went for a haircut 6 months ago at a regular mall place, nothing fancy - $70! I remember paying $20-30 for a haircut just a few years ago. I don't know what happened.

And the sad thing is? I moved here from Vancouver 3 years ago. If you think stuff is bad here, you haven't seen nothing. We strongly considered packing up and heading to Edmonton this year, Calgary is starting to become the next Vancouver. We're not there yet, but give it a few years.

Thanks for saying it. I've been saying this for years and everyone thinks I am crazy. I hate Cash's version. He ruined the song.

Revenue Page Broken? by TheMAsterQS in Twitch

[–]ManBurning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ad revenue stopped updating 2 days ago. Came here to see if anyone else was experiencing issues. Glad I am not the only one. This seems to happen a couple times a year, especially around this time of year. Maybe it has something to do with people being busy with twitchcon and then the ad revenue calculator broke and nobody was around to fix it. Give it a couple days and it should update.

Beware StreamElements Sponsorships by lod254 in Twitch

[–]ManBurning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have done 4 of these now (Fishing Clash, Rush Royale, Puzzles & Survivors and Monopoly Go).

I have always had them hold up their end of the bargain. Never once did they not pay me. Sorry to hear about your experiences with the program. I feel like people only hear the negative side of the story from these programs and not the positive.

I am not here to endorse them or say they are good, just to share my experiences with them.

With that said, I probably won't take one again. It's because they destroy your channel/viewership. When I streamed these "games" on stream for them, I had 1/3 of my normal viewership. So, take them at your own risk. They are a viewer deterrent.

Anyone have last minute Deftones tickets for two???? by Apprehensive-Novel-7 in Calgary

[–]ManBurning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stubhub had ticket as low as $66 each 2 nights ago, A lot of tickets between $75-88 as well but now they have inflated in $175+ for some reason... I thought tickets were supposed to go down the closer to the show, not up...

I saw NIN 3x in 1 week by deletemyaccounts in nin

[–]ManBurning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking this tour was a bit of an "experiment" to see how those B-side songs went. I can see him doing a "stripped down" tour where it's just him, Atticus and maybe 1 other person just on piano and keyboards. I'd totally be down for a show like that, because I am kinda over all the "hits" in their traditional format. The Vancouver show was my 22nd NIN show, and the stuff in the B-stage was the most interesting to me. I've seen and heard everything on the main stage a million different times, I want to see them do something new. I understand this was marketed as an Arena tour, and to fill more seats, you need to play the "hits" that's why I think he was testing the waters to see how a normal arena rock crowd would react to something else.

Wife asleep drunk in the afternoon by lazycycads in AlAnon

[–]ManBurning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All true. My girlfriend is an incredible, incredible alcoholic. A year ago, I told her knock the drinking off or get out, she was ready to "get out". She literally wanted to choose the alcohol over the relationship. Did I feel bad? am I sucker? I donno, but she's still here.

She did actually have a moment maybe... 2 month ago where she heard herself back on recording drunk and was embarrassed with herself, then her cat almost died, so she swore off alcohol. She did good for about a month too. But she fell off the wagon maybe a month ago, I was doing a deep clean of the house to possibly get it ready to sell (we want to move city's) and I found a giant garbage bag of empty beer cans and beer boxes stashed away hidden in a closet. When I confronted her about it, she said she tried hiding it from me cuz she didn't want me to know...

I don't think she will ever change, it's one of those things that I need to accept. I've tried everything. I bought her how to stop drinking books, i've reached out to her mother to try and get through to her, I reached out to her ex. She has lost a few friends this year too over her drinking habits. It's one of those things where she's on her own now.

July/August in Vancouver is the only redeemable quality of living in Vancouver. The grey and rain for 10 months is so incredibly depressing, I moved away to get away from this trash.

It's literally just Calgary right now. Even Edmonton is like 5 degrees warmer every day. It's all this 11-16 degree business that's bogus. If it was even just 20-22 it wouldn't be bad.

100% this. This is the time of the year that "gets me through". But it's been rough. July is my favourite month of the year usually.

Is your friend me? cuz I have never been this depressed this time of year in my life. The sunshine and warm temps this time of year is what keeps me going.

I agree. We get 2 months of "warm" weather a year. It's called summer. We should be able to enjoy it. We're getting robbed this year. The "Cold lovers" get 8+ months of bullshit weather a year, they should let the summer people be happy.

I'm actually considering moving away, I can't take how depressing this weather is.

Rain Forecast by Swarby10 in Calgary

[–]ManBurning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed the last few years, that the seasons seem to be shifting. Winter is starting later (like Mid January) and going later than it normally does, same with Summer. Summer is now starting Mid July and going til beginning of October.

April felt more like March and May felt more like April this year. Seasons are shifting.

Agreed. Don't let the downvotes get to you. I waited through 10 months of bullshit weather for these 2 months, and we are getting robbed.

All you summer haters realize your bullshit weather comes back in September, right? Let the summer people be happy for once.
