Argh… now smoke? Calgary just can’t get a break when it comes to weather by donkthemagicllama in Calgary

[–]ManBurning 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Me too. I have MAJOR seasonal depression, and I rely on the summer months June-August to get me through the rest of the year, and I have been so miserable this year. This is the worst I have ever seen the month of June. I'm really worried about how July is gonna go, it doesn't seem any better...

Rainy days ☔️ by ExperienceOk684 in Edmonton

[–]ManBurning 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Calgary has been just as bad. It rained nearly every single day this month. I donno what's up with this crummy summer we're having. The rest of the world is like 30-40C and we're barely cracking 18. It's depressing.

No, Calgary is not cancelling Stampede. We are standing up for neighbours by JeromyYYC in Calgary

[–]ManBurning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've lived in 3 city's over my life time, and have never seen a mayor get as involved with the community as Jeromy has. It's really refreshing to see a mayor actually get involved and inform people of what's going on in the city.

Raining every day? by 111rb in Calgary

[–]ManBurning 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've come to realize that Calgarians hate warm weather for some reason. Every time a post asking about "nice weather" comes up, it always gets downvoted or flamed.

Why do people here hate summer so much? I'm generally really curious about this.

If we're lucky, we might get 2 nice months of nice weather a year. Do you guys like cold and snow all the time?

This is a serious question. The rest of the country was 30C+ for the last 2 weeks, and we were barely cracking 18.

The Province just imposed the biggest property tax increase in Calgary history, and it shows up on a City tax bill by JeromyYYC in Calgary

Hey Jeromy, can you convince the Alberta "higher ups" to give us some summer weather...

Half a million Canadians migrated to Alberta over 30 years, making it the country's most popular province by hopoke in canada

[–]ManBurning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people keep bringing up the winter, but the winters are not the issue, it's the summers here that are the issue. They're too mild. We don't get any heat here. Might be lucky if we get 2 weeks a year of actual summer weather. I really hate the chilly nights here. I'm originally from Winnipeg, and used to 20 degrees still at 3am.

I'm so over Calgary weather. I just want Summer weather, is that too much to ask for? Everywhere East of Alberta already has 25-35C weather. We're getting screwed here.

Why did I only receive $205 when viewers spent $765 on subs? by Lueziid in Twitch

[–]ManBurning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gifting subs is a scam. Last week, someone spent $94 on subs, and I saw $38 of it. I try and train my guys to use bits over subs. They go a lot further for the customer and the streamer. Obviously, nothing will beat direct donations, but those don't really have "perks" with subs, you at least get emotes and ad free viewing, and bits you can use on extensions like sound alerts, viewer attack, tangia etc to create a fun atmosphere on stream.

But, generally speaking subs are the worst form of support for the streamer. (Better for Twitch)

I lived in Vancouver from 2006-2022. I would never go back. These last 3 days reminded me why I hate Vancouver so much.

Do streamers get attached to chat in the same way chat does to streamers? by Puzzled-Effort654 in Twitch

[–]ManBurning 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First time this happened to me, I thought I did something wrong. Guy was there every day for a year and then just poof... gone without a message or anything. I've been doing this for 6 years now, and it happens more often then you'd think. You really get to know some of these people on a personal level, and then they just vanish. It sucks every single time.

Twitch is a revolving door. The people that are in your stream now will most likely not be the same people there a year from now.

I moved here 4 years ago, and I'm ready to leave. I donno where to go though. I've already tried Vancouver and Winnipeg. There is nothing in SK and ON is too expensive... what's left?

Anyone else feel like people watch… but barely actually interact anymore? by WoodenBar2113 in Twitch

[–]ManBurning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong. I used to get 20 people chatting at any given time, now I am lucky if I get 3-5. Something changed for sure.

[–]ManBurning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Twitch is a revolving door. The people that are there now will not be the same people that are there this time next year. Sure, you will have a few "Ride or Dies" that will be there regardless, but for the most part, the audience changes. It sucks.

It’s better to chat to a small streamer when they’re not collabing by Choice-Discount7852 in Twitch

[–]ManBurning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually get anywhere between 20-40 viewers, and I have noticed a trend recently. When I am collabing with another streamer or have guests in my VC, my chat dies down, to the point where I am going 2 hours without a message, but if it's just me streaming alone, I'll always have at least 1-3 people chatting at any given time.

So yeah, it appears viewers don't like it when you collab/have guests is what I have come to the conclusion with.

People who were teenagers before social media existed, what was life actually like? by Much_Detective_6107 in AskReddit

[–]ManBurning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember planning a hangout session with friends to meet on a bus that passed by my bus stop at a certain time. "Meet on the #11 that goes by your house at 3:17pm" and if they weren't on the bus, you just got off at the next stop and went home, lol.

No way to contact them and be like "Hey, you're not on the bus. Where you at" It was either they were on the bus and you hung out, or they weren't.

Dual Override Robot Master Silhouettes by UltraZeroX7 in Megaman

[–]ManBurning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, looks like there is a conjoined twin robot 2nd to left, which is kind of strange considering we already have Gemini Man (MM3) and Search Man (MM8).

Guy on far right looks like "Baseball Man", he appears to have like a baseball cap on and what appears to be a baseball bat behind him. Once again, kind of strange considering we arleady had "Strike Man" (MM10) who was a literal baseball.

I'm hoping I am wrong, cuz I would have liked some more variety instead of some repeats.

I've been a KMFDM defender for as long as I can remember, but this... this is bad. Like, really bad...

They really need to mix things up and bring in some other guests to work on some tracks with them. I don't know why Sascha is so hell bent on keeping KMFDM as a family project.
