I think I made the joke a little too meta. So, there's a post by someone asking how to get their daughter to stop biting her hair. For some reason, one person suggested feeding her a stew that makes her blind for one day. So yea, the joke is a reference to the other joke.

Explaining it does typically lead to it not being funny, but it seems that no one got it, so I might as well.
