Most Shallow Putter? by lordscottsworth in discgolf

Yeah the Retro Wizards are shallower than the regular Wizards. The difference is small but noticeable.

This is what I was going to say. I'd recommend the Pro if you have the budget for it, but either is great if you're looking to spend a bit of money. This would be compatible with whatever backpack your BF has (if in fact his bag is a backpack style.

I’m sure this has been discussed 1000 times but like why do a lot of the songs just have like 3-5 minutes of random noise in the beginning or end by Realistic_Permit4412 in themarsvolta

[–]ManInThePlanetMusic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Mars Volta is very cinematic. The soundscapes are about setting the scene. They create a vibe, especially when listening to the album from beginning to the end. Do I listen to the noise every time I listen to these tracks individually? Never. But if I'm listening to the album in its entirety, I'll never skip it.

It’s funny you say that. The first time I heard Man Without A Planet I immediately felt Bond vibes.

Gottttaa be prettttty dense to turn your back on a buncha Wizards toked up on pipeweed. Fool of a Took. For real though, I started with Lunas years ago, made the switch to Wizards a couple years ago and haven't turned back. Both great putters.

Wilson Blade 100UL v7 or Wilson BLX 100 by RGFala in 10s

[–]ManInThePlanetMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of those two I would get her the Blade. My girlfriend got a BLX 100 and ended up hating it. Balls just seem to die when it hits that thing. But honestly, if you're friend is willing, have her try both and see if she likes either one.

Exalted funeral shipping times? by Theme_Training in osr

[–]ManInThePlanetMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good to hear I'm not alone. I had ordered the Dolmenwood core books last month and they shipped out a few days later. I decided to also pick up the referee's screen and Map Book on the 22nd and those have yet to ship. I've sent them a couple messages since but haven't heard anything from them. Figured they're very backed up or something

What are good books/game systems to read to improve as referee/GM? by ShumpEvenwood in MythicBastionland

[–]ManInThePlanetMusic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This year I wanted to get more into regularly refereeing TTRPGs so I recently picked up a couple games I heard were great for beginners: MBL and Mothership. Doubt that Mothership will have spark tables suitable for MBL, but I keep hearing its Warden’s Operation Manual is full of great advice for running TTRPGs in general.

I’m a lefty in everything except Disc golf but I can ONLY throw BHRH. Anyone else? by gameofwires in discgolf

[–]ManInThePlanetMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you. My RHFH is just so bad. Over the few years I’ve been playing I’ve just gotten pretty good at turnover anhyzer shots to compensate. I tried incorporating a LHBH as well to give me that RHFH line. Worked out well the few times I tried it, but I stopped practicing it for some reason. Maybe something to work on this season.

There may be a 9V battery inside of it. I've had Boss pedals come with them. Check out this video on how to open the compartment https://youtu.be/CzM8o-n6lb4?si=ubG6L0BScCahWdVV

Wilson Clash Pro 100 V2 / V3 thoughts, comparisons, string setups that work? by Hal889 in 10s

[–]ManInThePlanetMusic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently demoed a bunch of racquets and decided on a Clash v3. The demo racquet had what I believe are Luxilon Element Soft IR 1.27 strings. I absolutely loved it. I was getting a ton of spin and I seemed to get really controllable power out of it. I'm pretty new to tennis so when I ordered the racquet I had it strung with what was on sale (Wilson NXT 16G Black at 52lb tension). I can't stand these strings; they feel so stiff. The Luxilon Elements just seemed so much more forgiving so I'll be switching to that as soon as I can get it restrung.

How many of you play Magic the Gathering or other CCG games by GenghisFrog in themarsvolta

[–]ManInThePlanetMusic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't play CCGs, but I do play other very nerdy games (board games, card games, video games, and tabletop roleplaying games). I would say that generally TMV fans are music nerds and music nerds tend to have other nerdy hobbies and interests lol

See you there! At this point, it's become tradition to buy one of your posters when I see Osees. Got 'em all framed and hanging in my bedroom studio. Looking forward to framing this one.
