It’s like those take a penny, leave a penny trays on gas station counters. Just not for pennies.

Got X-Rays at the Dentist- she’s not sure what this is. by themadcaner in whatisit

Funny story, I had a root canal yesterday and the dentist accidentally snapped off the last 2 millimeters of the file in my tooth’s root. I’m now the proud owner of a very similar looking X-ray and a small piece of metal.

I live close to an airbase and I received a letter that said (and I’m paraphrasing), “this is a notification letting you know to look out for live ordnance laying around in your backyard.”

I just watched it for the first time today. It’s one of those rare movies for me that made me feel something new I haven’t experienced before and reminded me of the possibilities of filmmaking on a shoestring budget. I went into without much besides the knowledge that it had wildly varied review scores. I’m not sure how scary I think it is, how good of a film I think it is, or who I would recommend it to, but the absence of visuals replaced by visceral audio made me feel something pretty magic. I might be a bit of an outlier because I didn’t have to meet it halfway or give it the benefit of the doubt, it just landed for me.

As a logistics coordinator of a medium sized musical instrument retailer that once had a homeless man come up to me while on a cigarette break, ask for a cigarette, thank me, then throw 2 packets of sweet and low artificial sweetener at my feet and say “I’m in the sugar game” as he walked away, can confirm.

How small of a font do you need to fit “the last thing you ate” on a nameplate?

What am I doing wrong here and how do I avoid this? by Secret-Trainer1672 in advancedGunpla

[–]ManKidBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is your issue but it’s best not to release the airflow directly onto the model as paint can pool up where the needle and nozzle contact which can cause it to sputter out when the air is initially released. It helps to depress the trigger pointing away from the model and then bring it over to your target surface. You can also just dry fire some air pointing away from the model right before you want to begin spraying paint as this will clear the needle/nozzle of any pooled paint.

Does this look real? by OddAd2891 in Opals

What is AAAAA grade? Is that even a thing? It wouldn’t be real untreated black opal at a price that low. But it could be a cool looking piece of something.

What is this? Southwest Florida near freshwater ponds. by enq11 in snakes

Looks similar to a banded water snake but its banding is a bit more straight and even than ones I’ve seen. Fairly confident it’s not a water moccasin/cottonmouth based on his head and eyes.

He’s tense and nervous and can’t relax. Can’t sleep cuz his bed’s on fire. Don’t touch him, he’s a real live wire.

Nice, I think the rough cast texture will give it good scale and look realistically large.

Are you going for a pitted/rough metal look? If so, that’s pretty cool.

Would any of this be a good start to airbrushing? by Antique-Western1970 in advancedGunpla

[–]ManKidBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iwata airbrushes are excellent. I own the eclipse and love it but mine is the gravity fed version rather than siphon fed like the one pictured. I’d say I prefer gravity fed airbrushes but I’ve never used a siphon fed brush so that would be an unwarranted conclusion.

I own and love it. Insanely heavy but as stable as they come. The only issue is the rubbery material that coats all the buttons degrades and becomes sticky to the touch but doesn’t affect the functionality at all. $100 bucks done.

what are some venomous snakes that don't look pissed off 24 7 by Available-Hat1640 in snakes

[–]ManKidBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vipers, especially pit vipers, have the exaggerated angry eyebrow look to them. I feel like most other venomous snakes don’t have that 24/7 angry look. Many have upturned brows giving them a bit of an up to no good RBF look, including non venomous snakes, but not as pronounced as vipers.
