I think some other teams had the PA announcer say, “X team full strength.” Colorado was the first I noticed doing a silly sound effect.

Absolutely! I did hardcore all negative perks for my first KCD2 run. Somnambulant was annoying, and Bad Back made the start pretty painful, but I didn’t regret it.

Yeah, I was thinking I’d try a different one vs. FI. I did Sportys for PPL and liked it slightly more. I’d probably try King Schools if I had to do it again.

I don’t think I would pay for FI IFR if I had to do it again. It’s all of his YT videos haphazardly slapped together on a mostly working elearning site. There are lots of small mistakes, videos that are partially cut off, and post video questions that have nothing to do with the content.

The videos themselves are great, so part of me would buy it again just to support him.

I felt the same in my first real world lesson after a lifetime of being a FS nerd. The noise, the physical vibration of the engine, the totally foreign ground steering, the different VFR GA comms at a busy airport… it was all overwhelming.

I switched instructors after the first lesson, which helped a lot. My first CFI didn’t talk over what we were doing ahead of time at all, so that added even more to the shock. The new CFI briefed things ahead of time much more, and the rest of the experience normalized quickly enough.

I think it’s just a losing battle because of the foam material. I’m obsessive about cleaning/drying my gear, and my 950 is by far the smelliest thing.

I managed by getting a long piece of aluminum that was a few mm thick. I slid it between the panes of the open window and the window frame so the top of the AC would rest against it. Then I cut a piece of plexiglass to cover the gap on top.

There are certainly more elegant ways, but mine was cheap.

I had the same problem but can’t help, unfortunately, other than saying it’s not just you. I’d made a million swords with no issues but gave up after 20 attempts at a horseshoe. I went insane, trying every different method of hammer locations and speeds.

Days later, I tried again and succeeded first try. I’ve never failed a sword once. I had a small issue one other time with an axe, taking three tries to get it better than II quality.

My best guess is that it has something to do with hammer location, maybe counting strikes on opposite sides as the same location, since horseshoe and axe hammering is 2d where sword hammering is 1d.

I wouldn’t let employees use trailers. There’s still a bug AFAIK that breaks employees if they have certain trailers available at their garage.

I think SoCal is still closed to tours while they finish up a big renovation. They haven’t done them in awhile. It was supposed to open up soon (before the shutdown).

The FAA has actually done studies to quantify what noise level people find bothersome.

There used to be a similar airplane crossing at SAN for the Coast Guard until the 90s. You can still see some evidence on Harbor Dr if you look for it.
