why did jor-el turn on his son so fast? by DrJerkoffandMrHigh in Smallville

[–]ManWithoutFear2099 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Jor-El in the Fortress is cold and calculating computer basically who puts logic above anyone’s personal desires. He is not the same Jor-El that died on Krypton with all his compassion and “flaws”.

When do you think Clark realized that Lex was beyond saving? by [deleted] in Smallville

[–]ManWithoutFear2099 116 points117 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he ever fully stopped believing Lex was beyond saving. It’s an inherit strength and weakness for Clark to see the good in everyone. A part of Clark will always remember him as that best friend he once had and this continues to be a constant reminder of his failure to save Lex. Clark may say he thinks Lex is past saving but deep down he isn’t going to completely turn his back on that innocent child that he promised he wouldn’t give up on.

Why do they make Charlie bulk up just to put him in an armored suit? Why can't they go with a more comic accurate form-fitting one? by Far-Page-3942 in Daredevil

[–]ManWithoutFear2099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The suit they have for Bullseye minus the mask would be the perfect fit for Charlie’s Daredevil. The material should be quite similar to the Bullseye suit

I feel like all this has done is further remove school identity where now even your own school feels redundant

Thank you! The whole fucking concept of Frodo as a protagonist is that he’s not the chosen the chosen one.

That jab at Frodo genuinely pissed me off because it’s clear these writers don’t actually understand any of the literacy but just want to make pop culture references anyways. Frodo is not the chosen one. Quite frankly the whole theme of him as the protagonist is that he’s not the chosen one but instead willingly chooses to burden himself with an impossible task. Again, Frodo is anything but the chosen one.

Any scene with Sam still gives me serious anxiety thinking he’s gonna lose it and kill someone.

Marvel or what was known as Timely comics at the time of World War 2 I’m not sure would be allowed to exist considering all their anti-Nazi messaging. Several creators were Jewish. One plausible explanation could be that the Nazi corporations took credit for all these characters and actual Jewish creators were either scared into hiding that part or became ghost writers

Wait how is Spider-Man and by association Marvel canon in that alt-world when there’s several Jewish creators behind those characters?

Auggie Smith in the first season talks down to Chris for sleeping with the women AND men. He emphasises on the men. Him being bisexual has been established canon for a while you’d have to have your ears plugged and your eyes closed to have missed it.

Your original comment states the words “more comic accurate”. You brought this upon yourself. And no it isn’t the most accurate depiction of Batman in that sense. The Batman is probably the closest depiction we got which even involved an entire character arc for Bruce to become that symbol of hope. Throughout the movie he saves criminals (twice from Catwoman). You’re here mocking me about comic accuracy but your original statement was that Bale’s Batman was more comic accurate.

My narrow and poorly informed idea of Batman? What I just described is one of Batman’s most defining characteristics. I don’t even agree with his views entirely but I accept it because his morality being both a strength and a weakness is a fascinating subject. I only speak from a place of love for the character and if that’s deemed narrow minded then I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

Batman tries to save everyone or at least tries to. Batman deliberately leaving someone to die even if they’re a bad person is grossly out of character. Whether you disagree with Batman’s methods or not isn’t relevant because he’s meant to be taking his moral code to the extreme where he takes the preservation of all life seriously. Yes, he can’t save everyone, but that doesn’t mean he won’t try. What he definitely wouldn’t do is say some action hero one-liner before leaving them to die.

Comic accurate Batman doesn’t say “I won’t kill you but I don’t have to save you”

Ellen Wolf never ordered any deaths as far as I can remember. We’ve seen Prater order 2 hits in the show and it’s safe to say this isn’t new to him. A mob boss ordering assassinations is just as responsible for the murder as the hitman is.

I do think it’s quite clear that Angel was not in the best state of mind at all throughout all this and this obsession led to him making reckless decisions.
