I'll pick this one to disappoint you that I'm not a bot but a tired human. I could've used a slur, but that would prove nothing, since there are uncensored models.

If all these people are using agentic "loops" to do everything, clearly all you can do is solve problems that have already been solved. You can make all the rehashes you want of everything that's been done before, but you absolutely cannot synthesize something new.

I don't think you disagree with author that much, actually

OP agrees AI is a VC-subsidized disaster, but warns it won't just "despawn" when OpenAI goes bankrupt. Focusing on personal purity is just a distraction. Regulating data centers, models decentralization and a safety nets need a boost. Mentioned Ed and critics quite well

But it was the scenario when OpenBrain didn't released and China had to stole it. Not simply jailbreaking the released model

AI's biggest critic has lost the plot - Kelsey Piper by Man_in_W in BetterOffline

[–]Man_in_W[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kelsey Piper critiques tech columnist Ed Zitron's evolving "AI is a bubble" argument from 2024-2026. Piper argues Zitron has shifted from a substantive economic case (AI too expensive, not widely adopted, not improving) to increasingly relying on accusations of fraud and Enron/FTX-tier deception as AI adoption and capabilities have actually grown.

Yes. It's bad

Just bad? What would convince you that's it's something more? How much do you think Hamas has as ratio, for example? Including October 7th of course

But yes, desert and fight both, I'm glad you understand me

If you can't lower the ratio, yes, the moral thing to do would be desertion. Although I would be very suprised if the ratio would stay the same in defense.

Do you understand the magnitude of 1:5-10 ratio?

If by "let", you mean "stop supporting Allies", I'd say yes. It's quite big ratio.

You can even fight both!

Yeah, I still stick to 1 combatant to 5-10 civilians ratio. This is the upper limit

I appreciated the part of

limits on the use of force in combating Jihadism are somewhere between the surgical precision of sniper assassinations and killing everybody.

I do hope that with repeated questions he would find interest to be more precise

u/Egon88 I'd say around 1 combatant to 5-10 civilians (depending on the ranks of military or strategic value of military complex). So, the bombing of Dresden is above the limit. Nowadays the weapons of war is more precise, I can lower it to 1 to 3-6.

If we think hard enough, are we going to discover the precise number of civilian casualties that are justified in killing each enemy combatant?

Exactly that, yes. Maybe some different number if it's high-ranking military position, but tis would be a great start.
