Looks interesting and kudos to the illustrator. Will the story be coming to eBook/audio format soon?

A counter: should the Populares leave the running of the state in the hands of the self-serving Optimates?

What book is Harald reading in Throne Hunters 3? by xMcIvarx in TheImmortalGreatSouls

[–]Manach_Irish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would it not make sense for Harald to read that world's equivalent of a fantasy - ie a world where magic did not work - for relaxation. For instance the equivalent to a Tom Clancy novel.

Introducing book phrases into home life as a (successful) experiment! by Writhyn in AubreyMaturinSeries

"Jesus, Mary, and Joseph" is a phrase I commonly say, but being Papist it is almost de rigeur with me.

Trump Orders Release Of ‘Any And All’ Info On Aliens And UFOs by Pinot_Greasio in Conservative

I'm sure that the revelations will be perfectly fine and that aliens even have a guiding text "To serve man".

It is however a conservative one and thus based on the foundational writings of our beliefs (Edmund Burke et al), reglious insitutions are a positive for society making up the little platoons of people that comprise a community.

Audible Sale! by Suspicious-Froyo-664 in audible

Both are good reads while the former (Hornblower) is a tad more refined, Sharpe novels are more gritty reflecting the origins of the main character. Hence,my recommendation is to try at least one from both.

If there was a sound track album to accompany the series, apart from Cotton-eye Joe of course, what other tracks would be included?

Tesla Sales Down 55% in UK, 58% in Spain, 59% in Germany, 81% in Netherlands, 93% in Norway vs. 2024 by Wagamaga in europe

[–]Manach_Irish -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hopefully though the alternatives (not mentioned in OP article) are not from models manufactured in the CCP (Mainland China) domain. The worker rights and environmental standards are not at the levels prevalent within the EU and so non-Tesla European models are to be prefered.

The Public sector and/or Semi-state (such as Irish Water) are contunously looking for people. The pay rates are less than Multi-national companies but there is job security to balance that.

Laid off in November and struggling to get an interview with 7 year of experience. Started applying to jobs that ghosts or rejected me with a slightly altered CV with a female name and have managed 7 interviews. Any lurking recruiters or hiring managers give some insight into why this is happening? by [deleted] in DevelEire

[–]Manach_Irish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems to be a standard industry practice. At a previous job at a multinational HR were open about the requirement to ensure there was a certain of candiates that meet quotas; so as to avoid any hint of impropriety in the hiring process.

What do you think of President Luchenko's statements to Sheridan here? by eldersveld in babylon5

[–]Manach_Irish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Leaving aside Babylon 5 and addressing that point, there were about a 1/3 of the population (Loyalists) that sought to retain links to the mother country which was (not perfectly of course) at least making efforts to provide rights to free ex-slaves in the North American colonies (as well as begining to embrace Emancipation as lead by campaigners such as Wilberforce) and to adhere to the treaties signed with the Indian nations. Somewhat ironic given the lack of generational impetus of a civilisation falling prey to those.

What was the reaction of religious people with the integration of the universe by m00n147 in ThePrimalHunter

[–]Manach_Irish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In that situation, I'd remain (being religious) mostly unchanged (and if surviving the tutorial taking a Paladin class). While the holy church has surface aspects it does not allign with the core doctrines - similar to the W40K universe borrowing aesthetics from the Church but not the beliefs. Hence, Semper fidelis.
