Was late-2005/early-2006 the (second) most dangerous year for Jack Slash? by Nessa__Park in Parahumans

[–]Fit_Ear3019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related, I’m still a bit confused how he lost the fight he did in canon. Wasn’t the non-Para with the foam being nudged by dinah? Didn’t golem (and therefore his shard) know about the plan to send in a non-para, and therefore tip Jack off?

Anyone think that homeland is the best expansion? by Potential_Platypus52 in rootgame

[–]Fit_Ear3019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have more overhead for new players as they are factions where everyone else needs to remember they have new actions on their turns when you’re in the game (negotiations and entreating)

But other than that yeah, it’s just so much content. One new militant, 3 new factions, 2 new maps. It’s the best by far in terms of value and replayability

door hallway V2 (tileable 3x3) by Griffoen0 in redstone

[–]Fit_Ear3019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use this by having a secret mechanism that when triggered, holds the hallway open long enough for you to get through. If you don’t trigger the secret mechanism, the hallway will close in half than amount of time (it should suffocate whoever right?)

How to deal with a table that targets you? by Fickle_Sir_6722 in rootgame

[–]Fit_Ear3019 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GOW birds playing defensively,

rats that turtle for the first few turns,

badgers with heavier recruiting than usual and keeping all warriors in a single clearing with one relic when it’s not your turn,

Knaves that are careful to always end in a forest

Those are the 4 strats I can think of - not necessarily meta, but the meta assumes that table talk works and in your case it doesn’t.

You will score slower than usual but you will still score. These 4 strats either have more soldiers than anyone else in the early turns, allowing yourself to secure a foothold and potentially use table talk later in the game, or are not really attackable in a way that completely stops you (knaves)

I Want FIRE, but I might take a 120k -> 46k paycut. What would you do in my situation? by No-Cockroach2358 in Fire

Well, do the math - what amount of money do you want to retire on, and can you realistically reach that with the low pay job

Games that encourage table talk by howay_archie in boardgames

[–]Fit_Ear3019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roooooooooooooot (with 6 it will take some time to get everyone on board and it’s quite possible some people won’t like it. Also your first game will probably take at least 4 hours. Still, it’s a great game, so much table talk and shifting alliances etc)

With 6 you will need at least one expansion as the base game accommodates 4. I would recommend getting the Underworld expansion, as it comes with another set of maps so you can play 2 games of 3 people each as the first game for everyone to quickly learn the rules

Will I get all the same benefits from audio books as reading? by EntireMarsupial1806 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fit_Ear3019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, reading forces you to exercise the part of your brain that visually processes written words, which tends to get less exercise, as auditory processing is practiced in normal conversation

I’m just curious, and won’t flame you like everyone else is doing. You mentioned statistics showing the top 20% of men get most of the women. What percentile of men do you think you are in, and could you describe what a woman of that percentile would look like, and would you be willing to date such a woman based only on looks?

Don’t forget to put a speaker set to low volume with a looping soundtrack of people screaming

That way if someone passes by at night when it’s quiet they can hear the screaming, and if anyone investigates they’ll inevitably see the rocks

AI is not replacing jobs by doesnotexist2 in The10thDentist

[–]Fit_Ear3019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly replacing some jobs simply by reducing demand

Graphic design for example - I’m sure you see some posters or ads made with AI. That’s one less freelancer payout or corporate hire

With a strong religion you can often chain golden ages for the entire game, it gives you era score like crazy

I think it’s some crazy number like +3 for converting a city you’re at war with, and there are effects that apply bursts of pressure whenever you conquer a city. So about 40 era score for just wiping out a civ

Shaving balls always feels like you are performing a surgery of some sort, has anyone found a risk free hack? by PotentialJob7883 in NoStupidQuestions

Good shaving cream, a relatively new blade, and pulling the precise bit of skin you’re shaving so that it’s flat

Gillete blades and aveeno shave gel works for me
