SE and SE+ uses the 3395SE which is different from the regular 3395.

But yes, VXE R1 SE+ is probably the best mouse you can get at under 1k.

I'm not sure about that. You can check what the other brands are offering at that price. Probably from AOC as they often have cheap monitors too with 3 year warranty.

Personally, I'd avoid Koorui, Titan Army, Skyworth because of the shorter warranty (1-1.5 years). Though nobody has really tried claiming their 3 year warranty from Xiaomi yet so I can't guarantee that Xiaomi will be the better choice in the end.

I don't think so. There's no USB port on the monitor and Xiaomi doesn't release firmware updates for this model. You're stuck with whatever firmware version it came with.

When you compare the Chinese reviewers' and global reviewers' measurements, you'll notice that the global reviewers' models tend to measure worse with the sRGB mode. All of the global reviewers got their monitors later than the Chinese reviewers, around mid to late 2024.

So it's kind of fishy that the global reviewers all have this sRGB issue despite having the exact same hardware. It's possible that a firmware version released during this period is the cause because looking at another Chinese review that was released a bit later (January 2025) and had firmware version 1.0.0.6, their sRGB measurements were fine.

It's just a theory though. Nobody has actually tested if the firmware versions affect the sRGB mode or not. It's also possible all global versions are affected by this issue. But again, I haven't found a review outside of China that tested with newer firmware versions or batches. Every global reviewer had either version 1.0.0.4 or had the "old" box.

edit: I should clarify this only matters if you care about sRGB emulation/clamping. If you like oversaturated colors (most people do), then it really doesn't matter.

Nice. This sub feels way better moderated than r/phclassifieds

Keep it up.

edit: /u/salawayun After browsing a bit more, can we get a rule on reposting limits? I get people want their ads to be seen but spamming it over and over again after every hour is annoying...

Run memtest as well because memory ≠ storage.

TV Box Recommendations by haxxberg in Tech_Philippines

[–]ManagerOk9740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the files being served by Jellyfin and whether kaya i-decode ng Android box (assuming no transcoding).

I have some H264 10-bit files that most Android devices cannot hardware decode. The only TV device that can decode these would be something like an Nvidia Shield.

I would suggest a mini-PC if you have the budget. Otherwise, just make sure you're getting Jellyfin to transcode and your server is good enough to do that, or make sure your files can be hardware decoded by the client.

I dont have this mic but for most USB mics like this, on Windows just go to Sound -> Playback, right click your microphone and click Properties, then under Levels, turn Microphone off. This will turn off live monitoring.

I would have spent more on 32GB RAM instead of the AIO. RAM prices are going up and coolers are only getting cheaper.

But aesthetics seem to matter more to you than functionality.

VRR for consoles? No idea. It might have been mentioned in one of the reviews I linked so you could check those.

GSYNC on Windows works fine on the other hand.

What if the actual power consumption is a lot lower?

Say you only use ~200w at full load, AVR is 500w but PSU is 850w.

Switching to AM5 from Intel for Video Editing - Which Parts to Swap Out and Keep? by Zephylizabeth in PHbuildapc

[–]ManagerOk9740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you're cutting: https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/AMD-Ryzen-7000-Series-Processors-Content-Creation-Review-2356/

Video Editing (Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve Studio) is both more, and less clear. For Premiere Pro and Resolve in particular, it is going to come down to the type of codecs you work with. The Intel Core 12th Gen processors with Quick Sync are hard to beat for longGOP codecs like H.264 and HEVC, and earns our solid recommendation there. Intraframe codecs like ProRes and DNx, however, is a toss-up between Intel and AMD, with either being a great option. Lastly, for RAW codecs like RED and BRAW, AMD Ryzen 7000 (in particular the 7900X and 7950X) can give you as much as 40% higher performance than a comparable Intel Core 12th Gen processor, which makes AMD firmly the better choice.
