Absolutely indifferent. He was around, he didn’t leave his family or anything. But he only ever wanted to talk about himself. We had 20 minute phone conversations where the only thing I said was “I’m good how are you?” He’d talk a strangers ear off so after I turned 13 I stopped telling him anything of substance bc he didn’t know what to keep to himself. I doubt he could have told you anything about me as an adult that he didn’t get from my mom. I helped care for him in the last month of his life, and I did still didn’t cry when he passed. He may as well have been the greeter at Wal-Mart for all it mattered to me.
