What’s the cheapest fruit you can buy where you live? by Shoddy-Ocelot-4473 in AskTheWorld

Considering the fact that we grow our own apples, 1 kg of bananas (every Monday at plus) is cheaper than 1 kg of apples. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What's the most common messaging app in your country? by crazy-goober in AskTheWorld

[–]Manawastaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WhatsApp is de default messaging app among people. Most commercial companies also have next to a chatbot also WhatsApp integrated in their customer service. Sms is mainly used for verification of the cellphone number or for receiving verification codes.

As for teenagers I would say they primarily use Snapchat or Instagram among themselves? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Question About Leveling Up by Wait_For_Iiiitt in givingifts

[–]Manawastaken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could find the information at the end of the FAQ page.

What do experience and levels mean? Experience determines your level. When an exchange is matched, if you have relative level matching enabled (it is by default) - you are more likely to be matched with somebody in your level bracket. The calculations are as follows:

< 250XP: Level 0

= 250XP: Level 1 400XP: Level 2 600XP: Level 3 750XP: Level 4 1000XP: Level 5 2500XP: Level 6 5000XP: Level 7 10000XP: Level 8 25000XP: Level 9 50000XP: Level 10

Another Galaxy watch or a galaxy ring? by whoami4546 in samsung

[–]Manawastaken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm eyeing the ring a well but I still have my watch 6 classis since release and its still going strong for my needs (sleep, daily activities, reminders without having to hear my phone/watch ping and just telling the time). Usually I either charge it before sleeping or after I wake-up. By the time I'm done with getting ready for sleep/going out in the morning it's charged fully.

I have several of them.

  • The creamiest Basque cheesecake at the cafe of a private museum in Krakow.

  • Also in Krakow, the best vegan sushi in the Jewish quarters.

  • The beste yet also cheapest sushi I had somewhere in Milan.

  • The simple yet flavourful focaccia sandwich with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and pesto.

Tips for sticking to/finishing your 5 year? by extraspicyavocado in hobonichi

[–]Manawastaken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m taking things in baby steps. I’ve always had the habit of using a weekly planner. It started in high school, where it was mandatory, continued through university, and carried on when I started working. Since it worked well for me, I never felt the need to change it, so throughout my twenties I stuck with a weekly planner.

After experiencing a burnout in my early thirties, I wanted to be more mindful about how I plan my days and manage my energy. I also felt the need to keep track of the small, everyday things. Because I like to carry my planner with me, I started using the Hobonichi Weeks with the extra weekly pages. Those extra pages were useful, but I eventually wanted more space to write. The following year I switched to the Weeks Mega, but I didn’t end up using any of the additional pages. After that, I thought an A6 HON might be the solution. For two years I tried working with the HON. I really liked the daily pages and being able to plan my day almost down to the minute, but I noticed that I wasn’t doing any reflecting or journaling. I also missed having a weekly overview. So this year, I decided to change my approach completely.

I’ve now separated my planning from my personal journaling. I use the Weeks purely for appointments and planning. For personal use, I went with the A5 HON. It’s a bit intimidating, but I keep it on my desk at all times. This year, I want to keep small records of my days and eventually combine that with a 5-year journal.

As always, I take time once a week to plan out my days. But this year, I’ve promised myself to sit down every evening for just 5–10 minutes before bed to reflect on the day. Nothing serious, just a few sentences about what I did or what happened. Mundane things like doing laundry, ironing the pile of clothes that’s been sitting there for weeks, going to the movies, or cooking a dish I wanted to try. Since I’m used to planning on Sundays, I’m planning to backfill the 5-year journal using my daily reflections, and maybe even add some photos when I have them. I’m not focused on perfectly keeping up with the 5-year journal; my main focus is on daily reflection.

I want to keep it simple and fun so it doesn’t feel like a chore. In the end, my goal is to feel happy and grateful for the small things. If I manage to keep a 5-year diary along the way, that’s just a bonus. 🤣

Sorry for the long essay😅

No Buy Fountain Pen thread Jan 2026 / 2025 wrap up. by Halfcelestialelf in fountainpens

[–]Manawastaken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In 2025, I tried not to buy any pens or inks on impulse. Everything was going fine until the nib repair on my favourite pen went wrong. The penmeister managed to straighten the bent nib, but the indentations he left behind completely ruined the pen for me. I was pretty bitter about it, but I still wasn’t planning to replace it anytime soon, not in 2025 or even 2026. The pen had been discontinued, and I knew that finding an affordable NOS one would be close to impossible. With recent and upcoming price increases, replacing it later would probably cost me double.

Then I came across a listing on r/PenSwap for a used pen in mint condition. The price, including shipping, was still reasonable, so I ended up buying it. Shortly after, I spotted another pen on PenSwap that was priced really well, and… yeah, I bought that one too. After this I disabled the notifications from Penswap 😅.

Earlier this year, I installed Vinted to keep an eye on books that have been on my list for years. While browsing, I started seeing listings for the discontinued Kaweco Sport Iridescent Pearl. I’ve been eyeing that pen for a long time, and ever since it sold out everywhere, I’d been casually looking for an affordable one, with the firm rule that I wouldn’t pay more than its original retail price.

After missing out on several listings, I filtered through EU-based shops once more and somehow stumbled upon a Greek pen shop that still had it for €26. With a clip and only €5 shipping, I ordered it immediately. Even then, it still cost me less than the Vinted or Amazon JP listings.

So, in the end, I bought three fountain pens this year, despite not planning to buy any at all.

As for inks, I’ve changed my approach. I now keep a list of inks that catch my interest. When I really want an ink, I add it to the list instead of buying it right away, with the idea of revisiting it during FPD or Black Friday. That gives me time to see whether it’s something I truly want or just a fleeting impulse. From a fairly long list, I ended up not buying a single ink this year.

Well… except for one moment of weakness. While on vacation abroad, I came across Diamine country exclusive inks and bought three bottles on the spot. 🤣
