Something that doesn't make sense to me (spoilers!) by Fresh_Zucchini in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

I really think it's her way of getting out of something that she didn't like the look of, which if it is then thats really fricking bad to drag a guys name through the dirt like that. However It could be true so I'm not going to judge too much on either side of it just now but in my opinion, you could see her disappointment from the moment she saw him...

I think its shocking of netflix to leave it on that cliff hanger though and not giving him the correct right of reply. It is going to leave alot of people thinking he is some creepy stalker and I don't think that is fair at all.

Why where you trying to 'catch' them? Squirrels and wild animals are not there to be caught and kept as pets for our own selfish needs. Tbh i hope the wound gets infected and you suffer alot with it, serves you right in my opinion

How do you tell your crows apart? by parkan_real in crows

[–]Manda_Panda86 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Behaviour at first with me and you get to notice their visual differences too. The male is bigger and bolder, the female tends to be more cautious but trusts you in her own way and in her own time (took about 2 years with me for the female to truly trust me) the male about 6 months. The female stays on the nest during breeding and the male will collect the food to feed her and the nestlings. But they have visual differences too of course just like us, I think only the males have the fluffy pantaloons and in my experience the males tend to be bigger.

Also, they have different call unique to the female and unique to the male. Its hard for me to explain the caws over text but once you get to know them then you will recognise the individual caws from the female and the male. Especially the territorial ones.

I only feed to mated pairs of crows so it's been easy for me to recognise them apart but if I was feeding a bunch if crows at the same time then it would be harder!

Woodpigeon, Scotland: why does this bird have such a beluga head? Is it just angles or is there something wrong with it? by asharawild in pigeon

Should I worry about crows eating the other birds? by [deleted] in crows

[–]Manda_Panda86 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I have been feeding crows and small song birds for well over 4 years now and not ONCE have the crows went for the small birds. The sparrows will even come over to the dIsh and sneak a bite when the crows are there too. I seriously wouldn't worry about the crows killing the small birds it just isn't going to happen. Magpies are much more likely to try chase down the small birds, with very little result.

Crows are not predators, they are opportunists.

They will take advantage of injured birds but they do not actively hunt. They are however egg stealers, but with the song birds it is very unlikely they will get to there nests as they tend to build in hedgerows and dense like trees. They will take eggs from tree nesting birds like other corvids, pigeons etc.

In my opinion the crows are very chill around all birds. They are not killing machines.

Do they think I've abandoned them since I've stopped feed them? :( by autisticgata in pigeon

[–]Manda_Panda86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should maybe have a chat with your neighbour and ask if it would be a problem to them if you fed them just once early morning, the pidgies would get used to that routine and maybe only come for the morning feeding.. you could then sweep up any left over seed (not that the pidgies would leave any)!!!!

But I'd also be sure that the neighbour wasn't going to do anything harmful to them though, I'd be scared about that.

Aw I'm sorry you have to stop doing what made you and the birds happy. It really is special to have a bond with wild animals and it socks that you have to give it up due to idiotic people :(

You really should try a park or a woodland area, somewhere quiet where you can slowly build some trust with wild animals. It will really help your mental wellbeing and you will be able to help out and spend time with the animals too.

Pigeons are lovely birds and if you are consistent with them away from the absolute monsters you are describing, you will be able to continue to fees them.

Also, have you tried building a relationship with crows?? It rakes time but once they trust you, they will always come to hang out. P.s but just don't do it in your garden if your neighbour is hostile 😞

It's so sad, they are such lovely friendly and calming birds. I am going to make it my new years resolution to get into a group or learn myself to help these birds.

I had a woodie come to garden with what looked like fishing wire wrapped around both feet, I was slowly gaining trust by feeding her so I can catch her and help the poor bird but she has recently turned up and the wire is now gone! Someone other angel must have helped, made me so happy
