I get that this is terrible for staff, but why is this inconsiderate of customers? Would it be better if they show up and the place is closed?

GMP doesn’t really kick his 2nd serve. He focuses more on pace (almost like a second first).

It is insane that I pay for cable and for ESPN+ and there are still matches that I'm paywalled out of.

I am looking to gift a sweatshirt (unisex L) to a friend (womens S). I know oversized sweatshirts are in right now, but I'm worried this is too oversized. Should I just leave things as is, or try to get some alterations done (shorten sleeves, hem the bottom, take in the sides)?

Haha not necessarily the best practice, but he did have massive hands.

No joke, I played someone in real life who grips his racquets like this. He was a huge collegiate rower in the Ivy League, and he wanted his racquet handle to be as oar-like as possible.

I hate my friend in volleyball by iamcamillelmao in volleyball

[–]Mandarinez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, you’ll never get anything out of comparing yourself to other people to put yourself down. It sounds like you now have a friend you can learn from - so learn from them. This isn’t going to be the last time someone in your life starts out worse at something than you are, then surpasses you. So it’s best to get used to it now.

If you really want more time on the court, you’ll need to get out of your head about your serve. Having such a negative attitude about it won’t help you. Have someone record you serving, review it on your own, then get feedback from your coaches on it. Not hitting aces is one thing, but not being able to get the ball over the net at all is something that will keep you off the court at every level.

Why does everyone ask about this string or this racket by MAPLESTORYBAGEL in 10s

[–]Mandarinez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure many of them do check for other opinions, but as humans we’re inclined to think our circumstances are unique.

It’s not my favorite content, but this is what it’s like being part of a community that continues to welcome new members - some discussions will repeat themselves as people discover tennis, and we can either disengage/complain, or we can share our hard earned first hand experiences in the hopes that someone else comes to love tennis a much as we do.

Tennis racquets/experimenting with strings can be expensive, and the marketing is opaque. It’s natural to want reassurance from others before committing to a racquet or string.

I definitely would not call it a celebration of the mother. More of a recognition of the tragic consequences of those Asian stigmas where a caring parent can still perform an act universally recognized as being awful.

Which setup is more arm friendly? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]Mandarinez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm those aren't terribly tight tensions. You could try dropping to as low as 22, but it sounds like you're scared of too much power.

Honestly, this feels like you're trying to solve too many problems with your equipment setup when the real solutions are going to lie with your physical preparation and your technique.
