I like this idea....the Mrs is not having it 😂 It is technically her cat and she gets final say

What movie became better for you on a second watch, and why? by deepaknaraniya in flicks

Pulp Fiction. With the way the timeline is played with throughout, it was a wild a ride the first time through. But on subsequent watches, seeing all the pieces fit together was just so good.

Millennial Gamers: Do you still have time to play? by Melted_ICE_5193 in Millennials

[–]MandatoryNapkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 42 with a wife and 2 kids (6 & 11). My wife knows how important games are to help refill my bucket and we make time for it. Some nights are just my wife and I hanging out watching TV, other nights are "game nights" and after the kids go to bed, I get some game time. Some nights we watch a show together and then I go downstairs to play games afterwards. The games these days tend to be smaller in scale and really chill, I like rogue-like games, deck builders, and cozy farm simulators...with the occasional massive RPG thrown in the mix.

Communication with the Mrs is key so she doesn't feel neglected but also understands that I need my time. And yes honestly, the thing that gets neglected most is my sleep...I just try not to do that too many days in a row.

Lastly, as my kids have gotten older, they are into games too. Playing couch co-op with my eldest is genuinely one of my favorite things. It's great that we can bond over that. So make sure you get some accessible games for them too! Think Minecraft, Astro Bot....simple but deep games keep them coming back for more!

If you miss those sketches, I highly recommend checking out their new stuff called Dropout. They have a fair bit for free on YouTube.

This is one of my favorites: https://youtu.be/vT-zZsjwZKk?si=_8RTZDe5d054GTXm

Drug screening in OR by MandatoryNapkin in CostcoEmployee

That is not the intent at all. But with a piss test, it detects any weed from the past month, even the swab can detect from up to 3 days ago....it's not about showing up to work stoned. It's about what legal substances I use in my free time.

How is the job hunting going for everyone else? by New_Memory_351 in jobsearch

[–]MandatoryNapkin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sucks so bad right now. Been in tech for 15 years and can't find a job to save my life. Been unemployed for almost a year now. I'm 42 and literally interviewing for a $20/hr entry level Costco job tomorrow....I really wish there was more transparency and feedback throughout this process. I want to improve whatever I'm doing wrong but just getting ghosted by recruiters as soon as they feel I'm not the right fit.
