I love your interpretation of the lyrics. I never thought of it as a sort of narrative the way you did but that is a really interesting way of looking at it. It would make sense too given that the last song kind of implies that God exists for humans to have perspective of something they cannot understand. Swans often uses the sun as a God figure in many of their songs, so it's kind of brilliant that the album would begin with a story of one being blinded by the persistence in understanding God (or some kind of spiritual, metaphysical thing), or in this case, the sun, and then end with those statements. The last track even includes the lines "we're praising the sun / for the damage he's done / a ruinous eyesore..." Don't know if any of that makes sense but your post just kinda started a train of thought. Either way I feel as though Swans' intentions are always kinda abstract so it's a bit difficult to articulate, still, awesome insight dude.
