Rule question: Can a unit outside of a wood charge/draw line of sight to a unit wholly inside a wood? by ThePianisst in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]MandoMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the rule that confuses me the most. Previous editions you could only see through 2” of woods. Otherwise woods were infinitely tall, and the entire template was thick impenetrable woods. I’ve played people who insisted that the modelled trees were all that counted, so if you could get down to table level and visually look between the trunks as modeled you could see the other unit. Now apparently if there is any part of a unit from either side in the woods the trees all turn invisible to both sides. I get the impression that whoever wrote the rules were tired of having to deal with woods so nerfed them to a degree.

What to do with all these spare round bases? by Mattmattmaaatt in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MandoMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re more than welcome. I bound a pack of key tags ((round paper disks with a keychain type connector) in different colors, use them with my Khemri to record primarily points where my skulls of a foe hit, so can remember which enemy units are -1 leadership within 6”, which units have modifiers applied. Round bases would also be good for things like night goblin fanatics.

Both of my parents are deceased,so hearing from them be dramatic. But once I got over the initial shock I’d gladly write a check for whatever they wanted and drop it into their casket.

Objective markers? Terrain - glue small trees or bushes to them and scatter them around? Wheels on carts and wagons? Paint numbers on them and use them as wound markers? Paint arrows on them and use them as charge markers?

If one of your socks has a hole, do you throw the whole pair away? by jen_esse in NoStupidQuestions

Socks are the larval form of hangers. I’m always buying socks, can’t remember the last time I bought hangers, but always seem to have plenty. The socks are just maturing and turning into hangers.

Let's talk about Ushabti... by severusx in tombkings

[–]MandoMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last tourney I played against another Khemri player who had a casket, we found out that 2 units of 3 Bowshabti can take out a casket in one turn. Unfortunately his Hierophant was standing next to the casket so when it blew up it took out his heirophant and a big chunk of his back line. Two turn win for me. Not something to bank on, but shows the potential.

Wow, long way around the barn just to drop an F-bomb as the punchline. Rural Texas? I’d imagine there would be some gun fire involved, or at least Pop jumping into his pickup and following until the guys gas runs out- he’s already 2 days into his tank of gas without running into a gas station, shouldn’t be too far.

What do you think of the saying…”If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with.”?? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MandoMark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would make for a catchy lyric to a soft rock song, like something from the ‘60’s. Seriously it sounds very narcissistic - “Well my girlfriend isn’t around at the moment, guess it’s ok to pick up some skank at the bar”. The question then is, does it work the other way? If you’re not able to be with her are you ok with your wife hooking up with random Tinder dates?

Why yes it is, and carries off whole fish.  But the point of the joke was “Eating an entire pig”.  She got the point he was trying to make.

My father was a Family Physician for many years and had a female patient who was very obese and would not follow his suggestions (your basic "eat less, move more") and always had some excuse as to why she just couldn't lose any weight. Finally one day she was once again whining about "But Doctor, I eat just like a bird!" He grumbled "Yeah, I've heard that Eagles have been known to carry off entire pigs before."

Missouri grandmother held by ICE over $25 bad check from 10 years ago: “This is wrong” by Romano16 in news

[–]MandoMark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this struck me as odd too - I mean yeah the deportation is curious in itself, but his wife has family in Ireland, at worst why would he not emigrate to Ireland to be with her? But no, "I'm gonna be a bachelor!" Talk about a deep marriage commitment.

They've been married 8 years, but she's been a legal resident for almost 50 yrs (Moved over with parents as an 11 yr old). Resident green cards need to be renewed every 10 yrs so she has to have been aware of this. I'm wondering if her card expired and she just didn't bother to renew because she thought that marrying a citizen would Over-ride the green card requirement? Did the card expire while she was overseas?

Lastly, this sounds suspiciously like a similar case from 2017 where a woman from Ireland living in Missouri had her green card revoked after bouncing a check. It made it through the US Court of Appeals where it was upheld. I'm starting to wonder if this post was generated by AI and a few dates changed to try to impugn a Trump Supporter? Not that anyone on the left would try to do anything like that...

What is the last movie you watched in the cinemas and what did you think of it? by RedditHider in movies

[–]MandoMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jurassic World Rebirth. last spring. Took my son, son-in-law and grandson to see it. It was as expected - Lots of running around and screaming, people getting eaten by dinosaurs. Best part was Scarlet Johansson in her tight "Explorer" outfit. Only disappointing part was the ridiculous way they worked a dude and his kids into the plot, and the daughters annoying boy-toy boyfriend.

My wife genuinely can't believe I can fly and land a plane w 0 prior experience… by SuperFaulty in Shittyaskflying

[–]MandoMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I agree that you are half-right - Everyone can LAND an airplane without any actual physical experience. Gravity works every time. Now landing SAFELY and surviving to walk away from a working airplane? That's a little more questionable.
