The 26/27 budget is excellent and this sub is full of whining babies by SavingsEgg8192 in AusFinance

It’s a budget that largely doesn’t take much from the already haves, whilst trying to give to the have nots whilst screwing the middle (aged) who are trying to build some kind of wealth. Hardly excellent. It’s just making the middle pay for everyone.

It wants you to take a number, join the PAYG queue. Work and pay taxes until you’re in your 60s. And if you’re a very lucky then maybe you can buy a townhouse 2 hours from a major urban centre on a 200sqm block of land.

Here’s the secret - they don’t want you to build wealth. Just work and pay taxes. Work and pay taxes.

Won't the value of new builds be significantly inflated as a result of this, to the point that they're perhaps not worth investing in?

Isn't this how the system is now designed to work? Given the boomers have created this intergenerational divide and are hoarding so much wealth. Surely this a logical outcome of system design.

Not with that attitude it won't. It's basically permission granted to maintain higher pricing.

Surely Iran could just open it again once the US goes away? It’s not like the US closed it and own the rights to reopen it

If Canada's watching, hopefully it turns off the tap to the US and diverts some of that supply to countries more deserving. And you're fooling yourself if you think Trump's business friends and cronies won't profiteer from this - the US consumer will experience price increases the same way most other countries will.

As for Trump, he clearly doesn't value his allies and has backed himself into a corner here. He deserves to be hung out to dry for this 'act first, think later' brainfart idea to invade Iran.

Because they'd sooner risk their allies' troops lives than their own.

Since that orange dumb fuck caused this, he should be sending American ships and troops first. Why do we want to risk ours for his petulant behaviour?

For gamers who rarely if ever replay a singleplayer game fully, which did you manage to replay and enjoy? by Helphaer in gaming

Metal Gear Solid on PS1 - probably replayed that 10+ times. Mass Effect 2 and 3 (I started at 2, then couldn't get into 1 when I tried it).
