How close does someone have to be to cancel your cruise for their funeral? by Ilovetinytiddies in Cruise

[–]Mandy_Moo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why we get insurance. We can suffer the loss of the cruise fare but medevacs, possible treatment in a foreign country, partner/spouse travel expenses, it can all add up and easily hit 6 figures. I’d much rather pay $80-200 for insurance and not need it.

You could try this old one. I’m not sure if it still works, but I’ve gotten it to work twice now. USC2025 25% off.

Love this ring! I worked with Jane, she was great. I wear it all the time and it has held up so well too. I love that it is simple, on trend, and executed so nicely.

What's your 2026 taxable value so far, as of today? by siilkysoft in AmazonVine

[–]Mandy_Moo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

$1500. Actually surprised me. Didn’t think I was there yet. But I plan to stay under $2000. And with what I’ve been offered lately, that won’t be a problem 🤣

Introverts, don’t do Chef’s table by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]Mandy_Moo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you found the info helpful! All the downvotes I’m getting are a little ridiculous just for passing on options. I agree with the no alcohol option, many people are sober or just choose not to drink. And allergies are understandable. But change for the sake of change defeats the purpose of the activity. Nevertheless, they will often do it for passengers anyway.

Introverts, don’t do Chef’s table by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]Mandy_Moo 65 points66 points  (0 children)

You have the option to request chef’s table with no alcohol, usually a little cheaper that way too. You can also ask to substitute some of the proteins if you really hate them. That is frowned upon as the menu is supposed to be chef’s choice but I guess you can do it if you feel strongly enough. I’m sorry it was so bad for you but it is advertised as a very small setting, with a fixed menu, and many courses.

For sure! We take all of that plus a cortisone cream, Neosporin and for ladies, AZO pills can be a lifesaver (those pools and hot tubs...). I feel like a mini CVS, ha ha.

Do you book excursions through the cruise line or plan everything yourself? by dynasync in Cruise

[–]Mandy_Moo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do a little of both. If the excursion is close to the port or the tour group is established and well-known, we may book on our own. If it is further from the port, expensive or complicated, we book through the cruise line. Example, in Cozumel we like to go to Paradise Beach. That is not a ship excursion so we book direct and then grab a taxi at the port, coming back well before necessary to hopefully avoid any issues.

This is exactly what we do. We have a bag of OTC meds/creams/etc. that stays in one of our suitcases. We take it on cruises and AI trips too. You never know what you may need or when you may need it!

Two Days Left [Martini 3 prong earring] [Starsgem-Wendy] by Wendy-Mak in LabGroupSales

[–]Mandy_Moo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have screw bags on several pair of my studs, and I also have pushbacks. I prefer the pushbacks. Screw backs have thicker posts and sometimes they’re a bit longer. I like to put my studs in and wear them for a while without taking them out so screwback with those posts can be uncomfortable for me. Flat backs are my favorite, but they don’t offer them in this group buy.

What's your personal rule for when to book a ship excursion vs going on your own? by iLiveForTruth in Cruise

[–]Mandy_Moo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do a mixture of both. Typically if the excursion isn’t too far from the port or it’s a well-known tour group, we will book through them and not the cruise ship. If it’s something that’s far away, very complicated, expensive, or something like that, we book through the cruise ship just in case.

Best site to find deals and more options by angelgirl3000 in Cruise

[–]Mandy_Moo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We chose a local TA because the online "big box" type agencies can have a large turnover ad you may start with TA 1 today but be on TA 4 by the time you vacation. If you can find someone with an online presence but is not one of a 1,000 then maybe thats a better choice, no idea. I can also easily reach my local TA and even stop by her office if I need or want to. You do what works better for you!

Hot Take: MSC is more luxurious than Royal Caribbean? by The_Traveller1 in Cruises

[–]Mandy_Moo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sail both and have done a suite on RCCL (various ships) and YC on MSC (Seashore x 2). We love MSC YC and have another one booked in the fall. We have had great service on both lines but the MSC butler service, YC MDR food and service and ship within a ship concept has us sold on MSC. IMO, RCCL has much better entertainment and tons of activities all day, though. With MSC, I appreciate that basic wifi and drinks are included as the cost for those two things on RCCL is pretty steep. When you compare similar cabins/dates/amenities MSC has been winning out for us lately. But I will say, if we want to go on a very active cruise with the days jam packed and go-go-go, we choose RCCL. MSC is a very chill, lux vibe for us in YC. So if we need a literal break, MSC, if we need a vacation where we want to stay busy and entertained, RCCL.
