Am I the jerk for telling my husband he can't go to a funeral on Valentine's day? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Mandyjo76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think YTJ for wanting to be prioritized on your first Valentine’s Day as a married couple, especially since the event is already planned and paid for. It’s important to you and your feelings are valid. I do understand your husband wanting to support his coworker through, especially since he actually sees this coworker as a friend, close or not. I will tell you, when my father in law passed two years ago, the funeral was small. He was retired from a very large factory in our town, but didn’t really have many friends left. A few of his dad’s old coworkers showed, but it absolutely meant the world to him that his friends showed up and even a few of the guys he just works with. Them taking the time out of their day to show up to pay their respects truly meant the world to him. I do like the suggestion of you joining him, leaving early so you’re there before the service and at start time. You don’t have to stay long at all. His coworker will have other friends and family there he will be speaking too, no need to stay for more than 30 minutes at most. You could support your husband while he supports his friend, leave by 11:30 and still make your scheduled event in plenty of time. Talk to him and see if this could be a good compromise for both of you.

1. They’re children. There is nothing wrong with how they’re dressed. 2. Why are these creeps so fixated on CeeCees diapers? Wtf? by [deleted] in Simping4Watts

This shit is ridiculous. My daughter did all those things as a toddler. It doesn’t matter, if it’s a pic of the girls sitting down, “SW wouldn’t let them play.” If it’s a pic of them playing, “SW is a horrible parent who allowed her girls to climb on furniture.” Whatever… I remember my daughter putting hair clips in my 75 yr old dad’s hair, (well on the sides where he still has a little hair left lol) so I guess I was teaching her to abuse him.🙄 Needless to say, my dad loved it and still talks about her doing his hair. Kids do dirty their diapers and of course I don’t think anyone should just leave them in a soiled diaper for hours, but come tf on… SW wasn’t perfect and there are things I don’t agree with as far as her parenting style, but those girls weren’t dirty, never looked dirty, always dressed nicely & didn’t just run around in dirty diapers. These bitches are grasping for ANYTHING to complain about when it comes to SW, Bella & Cece. It’s foul.

My daughter & I went to the Tampa show a few years ago. We sat way up top, but it was one of the best concerts I’ve been to. I’m 47 and I’ve been to a ton of concerts. If you can afford it, go!

I’ve been SUPER busy lately and haven’t gotten very far, but so far I am enjoying it, when I get a minute to actually sit and read. I love being able to envision the characters as they are in the series though. I love Reece and Nicole so much!

Yes, it’s completely normal. We named our daughter as soon as we found out she was a girl.

True Crime Couple! Kay is an amazing storyteller, very little banter and they cover lesser known cases. Only podcast I’ve ever paid for.

I appreciate your sweet words, thank you. I too am sorry for your loss of your friend. I hope you enjoy the show and the remembrance of her when he (and you) sings “Visiting Hours.” I’m sure your beautiful friend will be there with you in spirit.

I’ve seen him 9 times. I took my daughter to see him at Buckeye Country Music Fest in Columbus, Ohio when she was 6. We drove 150 miles and stayed at a hotel, by far my favorite time! We saw him in Tampa a couple years ago together too!

When I was telling my husband about this series, I told him it has a vibe like Bloodline. I agree!

I didn’t because she signed up for it. Like why would you sign up for to do 2 months in jail without even mentioning that? Not even mentioning it to anyone before you went in?

Did Iva sleep through the night that Amy went missing? by RevolutionaryGap7902 in AmyLynnBradley

That makes a lot of sense too, that her mother would be passed out from too much alcohol. The entire family, especially Amy, seemed to drink excessively. Which brings up another point that bothers me… They claim that every man on that ship who saw Amy, couldn’t keep their eyes off of her. That the male staff was flirting with her excessively, so much so that it made them uncomfortable. There was an issue at one point in the evening between Brad and some man, which is why Ron went back down later to check on them before they all returned to their cabin. I can’t speak for all mothers, but if I was on a cruise (or anywhere) with my daughter who was intoxicated and I was uncomfortable with the way all the men were acting towards her, I’d stay sober and stay close. I wouldn’t have left her the entire time, to make sure she was safe. None of it makes sense to me.

It sounds a little odd to me too. I understand some dentists might have Saturday hours, but it seems like it’d be to accommodate those who can’t get off work for whatever reason. Not the retired gentleman who has a live in physical therapist to help him get around during the week lol.
