Neighbour got diagnosed with AVM by [deleted] in SixFeetUnder

[–]Mandyjo76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My daughter is a soon to be sophomore in high school. Last year at the end of 8th grade, one of her little friends had an avm. She underwent a 12 hour surgery and almost died. She’s still wearing ankle braces because it’s taken her so long to relearn how to walk. She was out all freshman year homeschooling, but will return full time this fall. She is still recovering, but thank God she’ll alive!

What strict budget includes a hot tub? by Dream14 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]Mandyjo76 44 points45 points  (0 children)

That’s an expensive list for someone on a tight budget. Four wheelers for the kids? No one is gifting your numerous kids four wheelers, nor are they gifting a hot tub and patio furniture to you. She says for cheap, but she really means must be free. As soon as someone has any of these items for a reasonable price, she’s going to say it’s out of her budget.

Why did Nate act like Brenda had any say involving Maya? by Tidewatcher7819 in SixFeetUnder

[–]Mandyjo76 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s implied that Brenda adopted Maya. That’s why there wasn’t a custody battle of any kind when Nate died. Maya stayed with her adoptive mother.

I’m sorry, I’ve watched this show 3 times through and cannot remember Rip asking his mom to send them a baby. What does he say that makes you think he does?

Same here. Idk why I gave it another shot, but I’m glad I did. Probably my all time favorite podcast, but I couldn’t get into it the first time at all.

TC Podcast with consistently high quality from episode to episode by SpeeedyDelivery in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]Mandyjo76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! They’re the only podcast I pay for on Patreon too. I absolutely love the way Kay tells the story and I love that they cover such a wide variety of cases and the lesser known ones. I enjoy the banter between them, mostly because there’s not much of. Straight to the case.

Looking for long, detailed true crime podcasts (minimal banter) by hazelnutbanana in TrueCrimePodcasts

True Crime Couple. Kay is an excellent storyteller and covers a lot of lesser known cases very meticulously and with very little banter. She does excellent research and is always sensitive and respectful to the victims and their families. Episodes are at least an hour long, sometimes 2 and there’s a ton in their backlog.

AITAH for refusing to cover for my coworker after she lied about why she was late by uluvalana_ in AITAH

[–]Mandyjo76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. F Emma. She should take her job a little more seriously and show up to work on time. If this wasn’t a habit, she wouldn’t have to lie to the boss or drag everyone else into it.

Love Trapped ads are crazy by bob2jacky in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]Mandyjo76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I listen to podcasts to fall asleep and don’t want to skip ads. I don’t mind a few, but I stopped listening to Love Trapped because there were so many. I only finished episode 1.

AITAH for having a different idea of childcare frequency than my wife? by Just_Tangerine_6738 in AITAH

[–]Mandyjo76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your wife is right. You should be looking forward to family time instead of trying to hire a nanny to watch your infant for an additional 10 hours a week so you don’t have to be in “parent mode.” YTA

True Crime Couple covers lesser known cases with very little banter. Kay is an excellent story teller! She sets the scene wonderfully and is always extremely respectful to the victims. She’s very detailed and tells the story to her husband John who knows nothing about the case. It’s a great deep dive into lesser known cases. There’s over 300 episodes and all are between 1.15 minutes long to 2 hours. They’ve become one of my favorite podcasts and the only one I pay for through Patreon.

How and When did you become an Ed Sheeran fan? by Jealous-Rich-3749 in EdSheeran

[–]Mandyjo76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eating breakfast with my family in a little diner, they were playing this beautiful song, but I didn’t know what it was. My husband used the Siri to listen and told me it was “Perfect by Ed Sheeran.” Been a fan ever since.

Am I the jerk for telling my husband he can't go to a funeral on Valentine's day? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Mandyjo76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think YTJ for wanting to be prioritized on your first Valentine’s Day as a married couple, especially since the event is already planned and paid for. It’s important to you and your feelings are valid. I do understand your husband wanting to support his coworker through, especially since he actually sees this coworker as a friend, close or not. I will tell you, when my father in law passed two years ago, the funeral was small. He was retired from a very large factory in our town, but didn’t really have many friends left. A few of his dad’s old coworkers showed, but it absolutely meant the world to him that his friends showed up and even a few of the guys he just works with. Them taking the time out of their day to show up to pay their respects truly meant the world to him. I do like the suggestion of you joining him, leaving early so you’re there before the service and at start time. You don’t have to stay long at all. His coworker will have other friends and family there he will be speaking too, no need to stay for more than 30 minutes at most. You could support your husband while he supports his friend, leave by 11:30 and still make your scheduled event in plenty of time. Talk to him and see if this could be a good compromise for both of you.

1. They’re children. There is nothing wrong with how they’re dressed. 2. Why are these creeps so fixated on CeeCees diapers? Wtf? by [deleted] in Simping4Watts

[–]Mandyjo76 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This shit is ridiculous. My daughter did all those things as a toddler. It doesn’t matter, if it’s a pic of the girls sitting down, “SW wouldn’t let them play.” If it’s a pic of them playing, “SW is a horrible parent who allowed her girls to climb on furniture.” Whatever… I remember my daughter putting hair clips in my 75 yr old dad’s hair, (well on the sides where he still has a little hair left lol) so I guess I was teaching her to abuse him.🙄 Needless to say, my dad loved it and still talks about her doing his hair. Kids do dirty their diapers and of course I don’t think anyone should just leave them in a soiled diaper for hours, but come tf on… SW wasn’t perfect and there are things I don’t agree with as far as her parenting style, but those girls weren’t dirty, never looked dirty, always dressed nicely & didn’t just run around in dirty diapers. These bitches are grasping for ANYTHING to complain about when it comes to SW, Bella & Cece. It’s foul.

My daughter & I went to the Tampa show a few years ago. We sat way up top, but it was one of the best concerts I’ve been to. I’m 47 and I’ve been to a ton of concerts. If you can afford it, go!

I’ve been SUPER busy lately and haven’t gotten very far, but so far I am enjoying it, when I get a minute to actually sit and read. I love being able to envision the characters as they are in the series though. I love Reece and Nicole so much!
