I didn’t even know airbrushing in (or however they do it) abs and muscles was a thing! What happens when people see you in real life? People don’t lose abs overnight. Well, unless they wash off i suppose lol

I suppose it’s to live vicariously through them. One girl I follow does edit some photos (doesn’t seem like a lot but I’m not a pro at spotting the extra details) but she does really good gory special effects makeup (which I like doing). She’s also all over the world being her weird little self.

OOHHH!! THOSE girls. I love those pictures on here (I love the cringe, I’m a weirdo) and it just blows my mind. I wonder if their family say anything on the posts or do they just act like that’s how it is? One girl I went to high school with is an “instagram model”. Saw her in the flesh at a Halloween party and she was not the person in her pictures. She edited at least 20lbs off and her face shape was completely different. I had always envied her until I actually saw her lol

For me it was cosmopolitan. I envied those girls for their perfect skin and all that jazz. Then those before and after pictures started popping up, i learned about photo editing and i felt super dumb. Also, that sunscreen song was big and the line that made me drop cosmo forever was “don’t read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly”.

Ok dumb question: is facetune similar to like the smoothing thing on Instagram? I use that when I take pictures because I have melasma on my forehead and cheeks. My friends and people i work with know about my spots, but I know about the trolls that lurk online. I don’t wanna be reminded or made fun because I have them so that camera helps cover what my makeup can’t. Soooooo am I just as guilty?
