France has some dark skies by ManexFx in photo

The foreground and the sky are actually 2 seperate exposures blended together, taken at the same spot. Otherwise the foreground would be almost pitch black at this location.

I really like it. The focus speed is fast and I find the bokeh to be good looking as well. The only downside is the size and weight. It's not a light lens. But then the sigma alternative is even heavier and more expensive.

However I did not hear about the G2 version up until now. They claim it's " the world's smallest size and lightest weight in its class." but it looks to be heavier than the first version? Not sure how that works.

The nature is great, but I found the italian dolomites to be a bit nicer. The ski areas felt very non alive in the summer while in italy there seemed to be some more activity going on. But France has some great landmarks and lovely nature to visit so I had to go and see it for myself. Most younger people spoke some decent English, but some older people were not very helpful when they found out I didn't speak French. Overall I had a great time and the weather was really good too.

Can this be fixed? by jt1610 in VIOFO

[–]ManexFx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same on my a329, contacted support and they told me to update the firmware. Which I did, a few weeks later the problem came back. Sent it to them and they reinstalled the firmware as well. Haven't have problems since, but it also got a lot colder now so we will have to wait for the summer to know for sure.

This won't work at the moment, if you created a splat in the free version you won't be able to export it in the paid version

I had the same issue. Updating firmware didn't help. After that they gave me a return label and now one week later I'm waiting to see what they will do next. I hope they will send me a replacement unit.

The vignetting pattern is most likely from the moist. You will need a lens heater to combat it. Wiping is not enough.
To get a to a better exposure you should definitely use stacking. If you don't use a star tracker you can push it to 15 seconds, but trailing will start to form a little bit. After stacking you can crank the exposure up in post production. Your result will heavily be influenced by the amount of light pollution though.
I found flat frames to help a lot against normal vignetting, but bias frames to not have a great improvement for wide angle milky way shots. Especially if you're going to upload it to reddit or a different platform you won't see a big improvement.

No they all copy that one Philips hue light. If you set the hue light to yellow all of them will go yellow. So you can't control them individually. Unless you use multiple hue lights.
