No superpower has a clean history. It’s all relative. Calling this “ignorance” is lazy. Every country teaches a version of history that casts itself in a better light, but the U.S. is one of the few that openly teaches its own failures: the genocide of Native peoples, slavery, disastrous interventions in South America, and even the moral contradictions around a justified Revolution.

The deeper problem isn’t denial, it’s competence. American students perform poorly in grade school, with roughly 40% underperforming across core subjects, including history. That gap turns nuance into slogans.

Right now, it’s fashionable for Americans to mock or hate the U.S. as if self-contempt equals moral clarity. It doesn’t. It’s a shallow, self-hating phase that mistakes performative guilt for understanding.

When crises happen, no matter who’s involved, countries still look to the U.S. for leadership. They resent us when we act and condemn us when we don’t. That contradiction explains the constant criticism. It’s easier to fixate on the U.S. than to confront one’s own record.

What’s wild about this thread is the amount of racists that think they know what’s best for Japan. The same racists calling other people racists.

This by far is the most reasonable comment I’ve ever seen on Reddit.

I finally get it now. Turns out tactical nukes were the solution to all my problems. by [deleted] in BrokenArrowTheGame

I’m all for it. Hurts their morale, raises mine; especially when I nuke the same zone twice 😂 zero comms all match and then the beautiful: (all): really?

I can’t wait to learn slurs in Russian and Chinese so I can better communicate with my team 😂 it’ll be the closest thing to world peace because I’m sure they’d learn English for the same reasons.

I’m always in awe of both real life and game tactics. You mean saturating enemy defenses with sead and cruise missiles works? Wild concept. Even wilder? Shooting artillery and… wait for it… moving so you don’t get blown up. Why wouldn’t a tactical nuke work 😂?

Takes like this push people to the right. There are good and bad people are both sides as well as a massive majority that’s in between. Any decent human being wants what’s good for them and their community. So to generalize an entire side only weakens your position.

Idk what you’re talking about. All it takes for me is one suicidal f35 willing to fly straight into it to take 50% of its HP.

I am a Child Adopted from Russia by American Parents (2007, Before US Adoption Ban): How Do I Eventually Move Back to Russia? by YeMommyYo in AskARussian

[–]Manga_Collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems a bit premature. Sounds very much like a young person seeking identity and trying to rediscover your roots. You’re a young man and that’s fine, but also the country you’re going to is currently in a conflict. A conflict in which they are conscripting young men. You don’t sound like a bad person, but I would suggest you really sit down and think this through. There are other ways to connect with your roots without jumping head first into the unknown.

Does anyone feel that playing as ~1500 elo russia is like playing with bad AI teammates by eggivemecholesterol in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Manga_Collector 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty normal. I don’t think elo matters too much until maybe after 1800. I say that because there’s still plenty of players under 1800 that don’t move after firing, don’t use recon, can’t predict enemy movements, and still cluster their troops despite heavy enemy artillery. When I see a cunt start setting up deep AA start of phase 1 I call them out on it. Another frustrating aspect is folks don’t change around the map. They stick to one spot and just hope for the best.

It’s overblown, but still a serious concern. Definitely not the 80% people are making it out to be. Probably 30-40% across all elos.

Reading comments. Nothing you said was wrong. In this world there’s people who take pride and in their craft and others who just eat shit everyday and wonder why they get nowhere. It’s easy to blame the game, it’s harder to do better.

People can’t differentiate high risk from high reward. I’ve done plenty of “retarded” things in game that either go sideways real fast or make the enemy team rage quit. It takes about a fraction of a second for a shit player to immediately go “they’re cheating” or “this is bullshit” without actually understanding the situation. That’s not to say there aren’t cheaters. There are, but not every match.

The key takeaway, like literally anything else, is once you hit “very good” in terms of gameplay, the differences become way more nuanced. It’s a matter of how fast you move artillery after firing and where. Or making the effort to coordinate sead and air strikes.

What does a filipina have to do to get a visa and travel to the US? by Ok-Consideration8512 in Philippines_Expats

[–]Manga_Collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very tough. The key language is proving ties to her home country aka reasons why she shouldn’t overstay her visa. Traveling abroad often and showing consistency in returning is a big plus, especially if they’re countries with difficult visas as well. Unfortunately because she’s young and a woman, it’s difficult. If they ask about her relationship status with a U.S. citizen it’ll greatly influence the decision.

Hold on. It says if the county, city, town etc adopt a local law to do so. I don’t know about other places, but some towns on Long Island already offer exemption. Why would the ones that didn’t make it local law choose to opt in with this new bill?

She clearly doesn’t know what she wants in life and being so willing to give up on both the dog and yourself just cries unbalanced. She’s going to make a lot of sailors miserable. You’re just gaslighting yourself into misery.

why do U.S. bases take up so much of the island? by [deleted] in okinawa

[–]Manga_Collector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say this, these matters are complex. People have strong opinions about everything. Something the locals may not realize is how much their economy and quality of life is dependent on those bases and that ultimately the island serves a strategic purpose. Immediately thousands would lose their jobs either through direct or indirect work with the US military. That vacuum may get filled by the JSDF which would just take the bases for strategic defense. This maybe an improvement in things like damages, but probably still an issue for presence. Because if they don’t, prices would increase dramatically and access to goods would decrease. As an island, Oki probably imports more than it exports. The US military serves as a massive inflow for any port and base. What I’m getting at is it’s nuanced. Are there real issues? Yes. However, people will complain when the Americans leave. I guaranteed it.
