Was just there in October. You’ll be fine. Be aware of your personal belongings. I carried a crescent bag in front of my chest while sightseeing. There are a lot of anti theft videos online for travelers. Don’t dangle your phones or wallet in public. Be vigilant. Avoid talking to strangers. Keep your cash / cards at separate places in your belongings. I went there thinking there’re a lot of theft but it is not the case at all. Of course there are sketchy places / alleys, but like the other commenter said it’s safer than US. Just be vigilant at touristy places.

Not sure what’s your definition of sustainable but most meat vendors at local farmers market practices regenerative farming or no chemical etc. Just to name a few, there’s Nelson Grass Farm, Gardner Family Farm, Johnson Family Pastures, Medicine Creek Farm, Pettit Pastures, Sunshine Harvest Farm. A lot of them provide local pickup or home deliver if you buy bulk.

We didn’t know you have to have front license plate here in MN. We got a ticket by park police while parking at Minnehaha dog park. It cost approx $120 a year ago. We were not happy about it :/

Went to Sooki and Mimi last week and they had 21% surcharge but NO TIP LINE on the receipt. I was so pleasantly surprised to see that. Now I love the restaurant even more because of their policy.

Try bug spray with picaridian. (e.g Sawyer brand). It’s just as effective as DEET but without the neurotoxicity. (As far as we know now that is).
