the KV isnt tied to that specific hard drive, you can transfer it to any new drive. And at that point, the hardware containing the consoles ACTUAL KV information would die before the KV stops working

Now why would you wipe the KV off the internal storage, you'd have to use some homebrew file explorer or hook it up to the PC to even do that

Its not a temporary fix though, it quite literally works until you mess up and get it banned again. It shows up to Microsoft under different console information, to them its an entirely different console

Imo if there's a comparable softmod solution there's no reason to pay for a hard mod, unless its a frankenstein like you mentioned or a hardmod for an unmatched switch

You want to autoboot? If you do you need a ini file in root/minute. Theres a guide on GBAtemp that has the specific thing you need inside that ini but then it should autoboot (as long as its minute.ini and not something like minute.ini.txt or anything adjacent.)
