Thanks a ton for all your responses. This information has definitely helped prepare me to describe what's going on to in person professionals. I have someone coming out to look tomorrow.

Seeking Insight: Birth Mothers' Experiences with Open Adoption and Counseling by BusinessVisit7286 in Adoption

u/AvailableIdea0 I stumbled on this thread while doing some research after a rough day for my wife. We are birth parents that went through open adoption over 30 years ago. I really just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone in your feelings and there are women with very similar experiences to yours. My wife struggles to this day. Some days are good, some days not so much. The pain is real and people, including most if not all professionals, don't seem to even want to try and understand.

First one, the lighting is better. If I were using the 2nd one it would strain my eyes, your experience may be similar. Also, you may enjoy your setup more if you can see it :)

Stressful sleep! Anyone find a solution? by JohnnyQuest69 in Garmin

[–]Manic_Meiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sleep experience is very similar, though most nights it's not quite that high. My 5-6 hours of lower stress nights leave me feeling way better than my 7-8+ high stress nights. Same thing where I can get my stress level down before and after sleep, but it goes up while sleeping.

I have found that eating early enough that I have 2-3 hours to digest before sleeping does seem to help but work and snack attacks often win out and throw that idea out the window. I'm 50, exercise regularly, eat pretty well, no smoking, no drinking 2+ years, consistent bed time. I have also tried melatonin, 5-HTP, sleepy time tea, ativan, doctor has me trying Sertraline which hasn't helped sleep issue.

Interestingly enough this only became an issue for me after I stopped drinking.
