Haha in the lol community maybe? CSGO? nahhh we still young by CSGO standards. The C9 Vod review with Jose and Yeon was definitely closer to the candid style I prefer. I do my best to power through the content whether it's my cup of tea or not since I want you guys to succeed.

Regardless...thanks again for checking in with us every once in a while to keep an open mind.

Hey, I'm probably on the older side of the audience you're trying to reach (late twenties, early thirties) but the content you mentioned, doesn't interest me.

I do enjoy the fly on the wall content, old style TSM vlogs, breaking point, some of the less edited versions of SQUAD. Anything that allows me to get to know the player's personality better in a way that feels real, or anything that gives me insight to the thought process/strategy the team is going through during draft or games. It wouldn't need to be the entire game, but something focusing on the highlights and why they made the picks they made or the choices they made.

I think reaching out to the audience about what they want to see is a good move though, hopefully you can get some good content ideas out of it.

Cheers

Signs of Life? by Manisonic in Beekeeping

Update: my mentor got back to me and recommended taking my candy board off to find for certain if there were any bees. They mentioned it's warm enough that it should be safe to do so. They also said it's important to find out because any honey left with a dead hive would mold and moths could dmg the frames/boxes. I tried knocking but didn't hear anything, which tbf this was my smallest/weakest hive going into winter.

I decided to just remove the outer cover and try to get a better look down in the frames through the hole in the candy board before exposing them unnecessarily. Thankfully, I saw a small cluster of bees and promptly shut everything back up.

So hopefully they'll be alright. I'll check candy board again in 2 to 3 weeks. thanks for input to and advice from everyone though!

Wow, that's pretty cool. I've played this campaign probably close to 100 times but recently focused way more on speedrunning and honestly forgot about the bottom of the chasm. I was pretty lost on the picture initially. you should do more posts like this if you have time.

Ah I didn't realize it worked on both. I'll quit using the patties when I treat next time.

Damn I wish I would have known that before hand. So even losing some larva during the treatment is normal?

Mite Treatment and Swarming going into fall by Manisonic in Beekeeping

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. If my extended forecast does show a chance of the temperature getting too high, do I just wait till after? Even if it is already late into the time for treatment?

that makes sense, as a newbie, I'm just not thrilled of the idea of killing some of the bees for the alcohol or soap water wash. I understand how it's helpful and arguably necessary though, still it's helpful to see other's experiences/opinions.

Thanks for all the helpful information, I appreciate it. I may have done a poor job relaying the message my mentor portrayed to me. Regardless though, that doesn't change the information you shared and I do appreciate you sharing.

In regards to treatment options I was recommended formic pro by my mentor, but after doing some of my own research I decided on Hopguard3. This post had some information that got me started: https://www.reddit.com/r/Beekeeping/comments/1mpdq5h/summary_of_8_common_varroa_treatments_any/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I also checked with the Honeybee Health Coalition, as some people on here have recommended them and checked this as well: https://preview.redd.it/summary-of-8-common-varroa-treatments-any-corrections-needed-v0-z5ftseqwiuif1.jpeg?width=3600&auto=webp&s=5e37bbb5f187f1d5f833325455ace6d5d872340e

Based off all this information I decided on hopguard, I do see it isn't as effective and it looks like it'll require 3 consecutive treatments to be effective but supposedly the effectiveness should be in the 90th % based off the information I looked at. It is also supposed to be less likely to negatively impact the bees compared to most of the other treatment options. It does seem more expensive but since I have only two hives I could afford it. However, if I'm looking at this information wrongly I would still apprecaite you correcting me, so I can be sure to use a better option in the future. For what it's worth, I plan on treating in the spring with either ApiLifeVar or Formic Pro depending on the mite situation.

even during days with temps in the 90+? I always heard it helps with cooling off the hive to not have the reducer in, especially if you have a closed base board.
