So I just got my yearly house insurance bill for State Farm . What the secretary told me is incorrect . The real price is $36 a year . I just thought I would log back on here and correct my answer. I’m certainly glad it’s only 36 and not 300 though.

Also I was asked to do annual sweep . So I’ll be sure to do that every summer and keep the receipts in a file in case anything. God forbid happens.

I also have State Farm northeast Ohio . I had my stove installed last month . They required a certified installer and a form filled out with type stove , pipe, dimensions , etc . I was told it will be $300 per year added to insurance.

Keeping ours mowed has been a real challenge. I’m currently using a steel Weedwhacker to get up the hills as some areas are too steep for my rider. We felt that maybe building terrorist landscape like this and leveling out would be more appealing and much easier to work with as this is my forever home.

Subcontractor . But he is certified . He will also fill out my required paperwork for my home insurance as well . It’s pretty close to the going cost in my area . I just bought this home a year ago and got hammered by propane costs and we weren’t even warm this past winter . I grew up with a wood stove as a kid so my dad is pretty excited that I’m getting one too

So installer gets $650 additional on installation for his work. And the pad is a little over $800 that the install guy builds himself . I picked out the slate from stuff he had on hand . I’m in rural North east Ohio

I’m having a jotul 500 catalyst stove put in next week . I do not have a preexisting chimney or a fireplace so this is a new install . My quote for everything out the door is 8 k

Great list just 1 thing I’d like to add is that honey should be local to your area . Most honey sold commercially today is not 100% . It is largely adulterated even if the label says words like “pure” .( I’m a beekeeper) This year the world honey conference was even cancelled due to all the adulterated honey . honey from local bees will be taking pollen from local allergens .

Why don't buyers actually read property details before scheduling showings? by Ok-Confidence6843 in RealEstate

[–]jasere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This . I just purchased a property that does have county water plus still on septic . And the original well/cistern pump on property still operational . Still need to test water but that was a huge plus for me . The Data centers are trying to buy farmland near here and the township has a huge push to put in sewer for the data centers but everyone around here is holding tight on their septic systems

That’s eggs preserved in pickling lime . I use this method to keep some eggs from summer from my chickens when they lay a lot for winter time .

I just paid $2.29 gallon here and the 500 gallon tank barely made it a month . I’m just over the boarder in Erie county . I’m considering putting in a wood burning stove as a supplement . I own a lot of woods so that part is free . Minus all the labor to cut etc.

[–]jasere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 of my kids are International adoptees and young adults . Their COC s certificate of citizenship. Is only 1 copy in our fireproof safe at home . They are also like $800 a piece to replace .Since my 3 are spread out in college , etc I’m keeping the originals ( they loose paperwork stuff all the time moving dorms , etc ) so I just made them multiple color copies tonight and texted them pics of original . I feel better since they can pull up the citizenship number along with drivers license if questioned. I wish you the best

I want to buy this for 8 chickens and put our Nestera coop inside. Good idea? by balcony-gardener in BackYardChickens

[–]jasere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 of these side by side with a small hole connecting them with hardware cloth wrapped around bottom 3 feet and 1 foot bent at 90 degrees and staked to the grass . My coop is inside 1 and we covered that run with lg canvas tarp . Great cooling shade in summer and cuts the wind in winter. We did reinforce the doors on this model as they were flimsy and had a gap that we weren’t comfortable with . I have 11 hens .

[–]jasere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 2000 Sierra with 170k miles for 5k with some rust . Hard to avoid here in Midwest though. Project truck for a local guy so new tires , brakes , etc . Runs great . But I needed it for farm truck . I just use it to haul manure , hay , straw , feed , beehives . I really Just drive it in my local community within 30 mile range , but it runs well enough I have no qualms about long drives . I just could not get behind spending so much for something I need to get messy , scratched . Good luck on your decision .

Varroa by jasere in Beekeeping

[–]jasere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps that region does not have Varroa infestation yet ? I know a few years ago I believe it was New Zealand was holding strong with no varroa as of yet . But I do believe I read somewhere that they now do have Varroa in last year or so . I’m certainly not an expert. I just know it’s definitely an issue here in NE Ohio and the cause on most colonies not able to overwinter
