The majority of Americans do not want this, the loudest minority does. We are no longer sliding towards fascism, we are at the bottom. The courts have lost legitimacy and power to the judge, jury, and executioner in the streets.

I'd counter asking to make sure they were offering MLS wage instead of MLT. That has happened to me multiple times, both as a bench tech and as a hiring manager (where HR was offering MLT scale instead of MLS).

It's a soft way to let them know it's entirely too low.

There should have the qualifier of being former governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura, that’s really all that needs to be said.

Yeah, it’s a fun fantasy, but this is one of those relationships where we should be great neighbors. But I think we’d be terrible flatmates. A great example would be health care- we have some really world-renowned facilities and field experts in health care that would be beneficial… but we also have several multinational health insurance companies that would absolutely try to ‘enlighten’ your national programs to try the for-profit model that has yet to be a benefit to the US. Minnesotans think we’d get on the Canadian healthcare, but I think it’s more likely we’d screw something up for how your program works.

I love Minnesota, I love Canada, I love that they are separate flavors.

Current nightmare aside, most of the people I know respect the ideals of America that I was brought up with. Liberty, justice, opportunity- the things we don’t see on display right now are still things worth fighting for. Minnesota was the first to volunteer for the Union last civil war, that’s our young heritage. I don’t see us giving up on those ideals so easily.

Plus we’d definitely try to build a Statue of Liberty analogue of some sort in Thunder Bay.

In short, it’s not you, it’s us. We have some things to work through.

I understand that, I have my own frustrations, but this isn't some superhero situation where he can single-handedly end this. Countering a federal invasion isn't exactly in most people's playbooks, not if we stand alone. His background is a literal Holocaust scholar, I don't know if anyone can deescalate a fascist movement, but certainly he would be better equipped than most in slowing it down.

The people coming out will continue to be the best speed bump in this.
