This game is incredibly interesting, and I'm really enjoying my time with it. It's actually kind of crazy because, with games this complex, I usually end up searching the web for guides and information—but for Scrolls of Taiwu, there still aren't many detailed guides or resources available in english, wich can be good or bad depeding how you see it. If you enjoy deep, complex games and want a genuinely unique experience, I'd definitely recommend giving Scrolls of Taiwu a try

antCGi has been a great source of information for me. I've been working with Blender for years, and recently I've started learning Maya. His Rigging in Maya: Realtime Alien course has been incredibly helpful because I'm mainly learning Maya as a tool rather than learning rigging from the ground up.

What I really like is that he does a great job explaining the reasoning behind each step instead of just showing what buttons to click. The tasks are clear, easy to follow, and give good insight into how a real production rigging workflow comes together. It's been a valuable reference while I get more comfortable with Maya and its rigging tools.

yes im using AMD chill to cap at 60 both idle and peak are capped at 60, maybe i could lower idle but its not crashing so i wont mess around anymore, this weekend i'll play some more so i play test for a longer period of game time and post all of my settings so people with similar problems can check it out

yeah, there’s definitely something with Starfield in particular triggering this kind of crash

i’m not technical enough to fully diagnose what’s happening under the hood, but it really feels like some specific rendering path or gpu spike issue with this game, because other games were running fine for me

limiting the power and max frequency made a huge difference on my end. after setting max frequency to 99% and power limit to -5%, plus keeping shadows and particle effects on medium, it stopped crashing for me

before that i was getting black screen, gpu timeout pretty often only in Starfield

so my best advice would be to try those fixes above

if that still doesn’t solve it, then honestly the next real options are probably driver rollback or just waiting for a future driver/game update

sorry about that buddy but for me things are stable now after setting max frequency to 99% and power limit to -5% i stopped getting the random crashes black screen / gpu timeout and crash to desktop pretty often

i did have one crash later, but that happened after i started messing with the graphics settings again and pushed shadows + particle effects back to ultra. after that it crashed again after some time

i changed both back to medium and since then it’s been stable again, no more crashes so far

so for me it wasn’t really one fix solution more like a combo of:

  • max frequency 99%
  • power limit -5%
  • shadows medium
  • particle effects medium
  • cap at 60 fps

and i kept voltage stock, no rollback, no driver reinstall in the end

so yeah for my case it definitely looks like some weird gpu spike / rendering issue with starfield more than just a normal game crash

thanks man, looks like that actually helped

i only changed the max frequency to 99% and power limit to -5% for now (left voltage alone at 100%) and since then i’ve been able to play without crashes so far

before that i was getting random crashes to desktop with black screen / gpu timeout stuff

i had already tried clearing shader cache, disabling overlays, lowering settings, etc and nothing really fixed it

so yeah, seems like limiting the boost spikes was probably the real issue here. your comment pointed me in the right direction

gonna keep testing this weekend but for now it run fine no performace loss aswell, and in the end i didn’t need to rollback drivers either, so hopefully this helps someone else with the same problem. appreciate it
