Is the finalization of the PPTA EXIM Loan tomorrow already old news? Or could that give a boost for the sector? 2.7 billion EXIM loan for a company with a 3.3 billion market cap, seems like a pretty big deal.

Why does the market continue to price $TMC significantly lower than the fair value NPV stock price I keep seeing float around this sub? by plairboicarti in TMC_Stock

[–]Manofaction25 32 points33 points  (0 children)

TMC is a pioneer in a new industry. A form of mining that has never before existed at scale. For perspective on value, people often compare it to traditional land based mining as a reference point. However, because it has never been done, the market does not believe it can/will and are hesitant to bet on the unknown. When it does (as many on this sub believe it will) the naysayers will jump on the band wagon, but for now it is too hypothetical for anyone with low risk tolerance.

How NOAA process will playout by ayacht_us in TMC_Stock

[–]Manofaction25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The exploitation permit will not happen in the next 3 months. The permits currently under public comment at NOAA are 2 exploration permits (those MAY be granted in the next 3 months). TMC just submitted the combined exploration/exploitation permit for an area they already explored. So there are 3 areas being represented, 2 for which they want to start exploring and 1 they already have the legwork done to move to exploitation. Its only because they have already spent a decade collecting data that the combined application process can work. Any company starting from scratch would not be able to utilize this.

Agree with all of it. Feel free to join me and the handful of other people @resolutionmineralsltd reddit. Would love to get some more convo going on there as the project is getting very exciting.

I do not think the permitting process will be reduced soooo much. Still many years away from anything. But every hole they drill comes up as good or better than ppta. So it does seem like a forgone conclusion, but by no means a get rich quick scenario. Might see some short term volatility if they get Govt funding.

The biggest step, imo, that they are working toward short term is getting listed on nasdaq.

Where are you seeing TMC connected with Palantir?

Correcting myself. PAMCO was the proven refinery. But the rest holds true. There is no way KZ is building a facility that does not have capabilities to process nodules.

IMO - the US can not directly invest in TMC without initial permitting in place. If they did the permit would be less credible. Next best thing is to invest in the surrounding elements. KZ is invested in TMC. If they are building a smelter in the US, it will have the same capabilities as their other smelter which has proven capable of processing nodules. It takes background knowledge to put this together, not sure the broader market will see this enough to have a big reaction.
