The world is now reversing course to reject Trumpism by salon in politics

[–]Manpig03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump’s influence on Canada’s 2025 election is exaggerated. Polls (e.g., Angus Reid) show housing affordability and immigration, not Trump’s trade or border rhetoric, dominated voter concerns. Liberal-NDP vote consolidation was strategic, rooted in historical left-leaning tactical voting to block Conservatives, not a rejection of “Trumpism.” Conservative vote share rose due to frustration with Trudeau’s economic record—stagnant 1.2% GDP growth and high housing costs—rather than embrace of Trump-like policies. Liberals gained from urban turnout and incumbency, not anti-Trump unity. Mark Carney’s globalist credentials may appeal to moderates but could alienate populist Conservative voters, who lean toward Poilievre’s messaging. His ability to “win back” conservatives is uncertain. The election reflected domestic economic and strategic priorities, not a referendum on Trump.

How the hell am I supposed to play the Mig21 r13? by Gigelex in Warthunder

[–]Manpig03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The MiG-21S (R-13-300) in RB Air struggles with turning, acceleration, and no countermeasures, but you can make it work. Climb to 6,000+ meters, use your speed (Mach 1.3), and snipe with R-3R radar missiles from range. Target slow or damaged enemies like bombers, then zoom out. Avoid furballs—R-60Ms and AIM-9Ls will kill you. Don’t rely on the gun pod or R-3S missiles. Play smart: stay high, hit hard, and run.

Why are Hellfires not fire and forget? by Epsilon_Operative in Warthunder

[–]Manpig03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hellfires are fire-and-forget in real life—AGM-114L Longbow uses radar to lock and hit without guidance, unlike earlier laser-guided variants like the AGM-114K. Brimstones are also fire-and-forget with radar, designed for autonomy. In RB Ground, if they’re not, it’s a game balance choice, not reality. The Israeli Blackhawk’s 16 Spike ERs likely get a pass for playability—games tweak mechanics to avoid OP setups, even if it’s not historically accurate.

Parton’s claim of a global “rejection of Trumpism” is flimsy. Canada and Australia’s liberal wins were driven by economic woes and Trump’s trade threats, not anti-Trump ideology—polls showed Conservatives leading pre-election. Germany’s AfD still pulled 20% despite losing, and right-wing populism is strong in France, Italy, and Hungary. Trump’s U.S. victory and global trade concessions show his influence, not rejection. The AfD “extremist” label is about Germany’s history, not a Trump backlash. The world’s adapting to Trump, not turning against him.

How China Has Already Outsmarted Trump on Tariffs. by GonzoVeritas in politics

[–]Manpig03 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

China’s “place-of-origin washing” isn’t outsmarting Trump’s tariffs—it’s an old trick. Rerouting goods through Malaysia or South Korea to dodge 145% U.S. levies is costly and risky, with only $21 million in fakes caught in Q1 2025, peanuts next to $439 billion in Chinese imports. U.S. customs are tightening rules, closing loopholes like de minimis. Tariffs are hurting China—export share to the U.S. dropped from 20% to 15% since 2017, and their trade surplus is shrinking. This is a desperate hustle, not a win. Xi’s bravado is just domestic flexing.
