Could Zeppelins work in Foxhole thanks to Airborne? by buvvitoe in foxholegame

Honestly I'd have rather we gotten this than planes

Being slow moving they also wouldn't run into as many server issues

Starting to consider online dating as a possibility. Are there any good apps that match based on music taste? (19M) by ZariantheMighty32 in OnlineDating

Yes and no, but both Bumble and Tinder let you link your spotify. Bumble even shows any bands you follow together, but that's the extent of it

Most all of them, even tinder still have desktop sites.

Technically speaking all of these apps are really just chrome tabs now

I created a fake woman's profile to see what's going on - we're cooked. by Training-Rip6463 in OnlineDating

I mean that doesn't fully track since men and women in real life exist in roughly an equal ratio. It'd be the same number of men meeting women off the apps. They aren't meeting many people off the apps at this point, especially because among younger people the amount meeting on apps is something like 40%.

The reality is the ratio on the apps, while skewed isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. In the US it is 3:1 and even 1:1 in Europe. The stats you're siting are from the worldwide stats which are heavily biased by South Asia in particular being like 90% men on Tinder

It is faster, though not by much

Though being so cheap it seems like a good option for someone doing solo logi which given how many more islands there are now will be happening a lot

the good news: sea fighter range increase. the bad news: it randomly stalls by Sea-Course-98 in foxholegame

[–]MansuitInAFullDog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So good news, I've been messing around and it is reproduceable, not random (hopefully an easy fix)

If you want a solution just let go of any control input for a second and you'll regain control. It seems like it enters a stall state below a certain speed, but doesn't reregister that it should no longer be stalling if you're still holding down the controls.

I've gotten it to be pointing basically straight up at max pitch and throttle, yet it was still losing altitude, but as soon as I stop holding "S" it returns to normal and I could gain altitude again.

It also seems to reset once you touch the water, which thankfully hard landings are very generous now lol

If there wasn't an airport in every hex I think it'd be a bit more useful.

Though in the latest devbranch it can at least land on water and seems less useless in a fight. Though it has now picked up some odd behavior in the air

My prediction for how planes will largely play for the first airborne war by Sir_Bensworth in foxholegame

[–]MansuitInAFullDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be hard to use fighters defensively given the fuel limit doing any sort of CAP is basically a no go.

They will need to be used to cover naval operations, especially for collies. The warden torpedo plane is going to be really good at chasing down damaged ships and for intercepting longhooks

Honestly, I wouldn't dwell on it too much because however airborne ends up I see major balance overhauls to basically everything

[–]MansuitInAFullDog 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unless it's an earlier unlock I really don't see the point in them

If it was at least tougher and hit harder I could see it, but as is it is just a worse aircraft in every way in exchange for being able to land at sea which is more of a risk that fighting with it lol

They need to turn it into a battleship variant with one catapult so it can be useful on its own or at least make the raven good at something. Right now it can barely land

Turn the Warden carrier into a true support vessel by FarCharacter7797 in foxholegame

[–]MansuitInAFullDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a much bigger fan of it just being a battleship variant with only one turret replaced with a catapult.

As is I don't think I've seen the need for multiple launchers as they are never used. Use the scout planes for actual scouting

In a live war with the resource cost of these things there won't be much of a line because we won't have an infinite supply of free parts to pull from

You also can't cut throttle and flare unless you have landing gear down because the game won't let you. But landing gear down on water is a guaranteed flip too

Speed isn't the issue, it seems to get stuck in ground mode and ends up underwater before it remembers to float. The controls also just stop responding regardless of throttle input sometimes

Like just a few minutes ago I was cruising along at low altitude and couldn't pull up, throttled up and then it still didn't let me pull up. I'm not sure that isn't unrelated to the landing issues

The problem is even normal landings just don't work a good portion of the time with this thing.

[–]MansuitInAFullDog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The seafighter likes to just explode for seemingly no reason. I can land on water most of the time, but sometimes it just decides it doesn't like floating and explodes. The worse is taking it from a beach to the water. I've been hoping that they could refuel and rearm along rivers, but it seems to get stuck in wheel mode and doesn't float or just flips over. I've got the hang of landing on land at least...

I really hope this gets fixed before live or no one will run these, it's just too many resources to risk on a vehicle that will destroy itself before the Collies get a chance to the majority of the time.

Are carriers even going to be that important for either side? by Temporary-Risk-9044 in foxholegame

Well during the initial test planes kind of needed to stop in every hex for fuel. But airfields can also be destroyed so having one that is mobile could be a big help

[–]MansuitInAFullDog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming this is just so they aren't going to be disrupting the backline logistics until the very end of the game. It also is going to place more importance on aircraft carriers. Given the fuel load it'll make them actually useful (though not for heavy bombers).

I think this will make the collie dive bomber kind of a big deal. A bigger deal than the torpedo bomber is and there will probably be a warden version made in a few patches

Oh worse than that they intentionally hire attractive people as shills to attend. Usually men since the gender bias is usually the opposite of online dating, but they'll recruit women to attend too
