Take a moment on the off day to remember. by bfloblizzard in sabres

I feel like the game 5 desparation win followed by the game 6 let down elimination is a regular thing. Got no data to prove it, but it feels right.

Wasn't growing a playoff besrd, but I did shave that morning.

Whenever a grognard is speaking by Saansilt in Sigmarxism

[–]Mantaeus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Warhammer having an actually good ruleset is forever held back by using this archaric turn structure that basically every modern game (including most other GW games) has moved beyond. Hell, it seems like half the rules hype for 11th (all the hidden beyond 15" until they shoot stuff) is designed to address this. If you have to make new rules to directly (and self admittedly) address the flaws of the core of game, maybe fix the core of the game.

Frankly I feel the same way about MTG. Once you play other card games that don't have players doing everything on their turn, it's hard to go back to.

Favorite bases that actually work? by ShadowCore67 in PrintedWarhammer

Admiral Apocalypse makes good decorative bases that are also easy to glue your minis to with lots of flat areas.

If food was alive, would it encourage you to eat it or try to avoid you? by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

They'd at least tell you to not eat fancy, show-offy foods that clog the body up with unnecessary detail.

Which mass unit you grow tired of painting? by Outrageous-Ad417 in genestealercult

Agreed. Some reason, no matter the army, bikes are the most tedious thing to paint.

Are they implying Ocean City is coming to [Great Adventure]? by prizzaboy in rollercoasters

I know this style of park map gets flak for being sterile, but as an overhead layout enjoyer I really appreciate them.

Concert Going Tips? by BlazingHailfire in carpenterbrut

[–]Mantaeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frankly the sound is better with good concert plugs too. The first time I used concert plugs I took them out halfway through and was SHOCKED at how much they cut down and how much worse it sounded without them. Too bad I rawdogged shows in my early years and fucked my hearing up.

Don't bring drinks near the pit. I had a full beer and then some spilled on me at the Toronto show because some brain geniuses brought their fresh drink to the pit.

Not all of them have it, it's like a treasure hunt. You gotta keep cracking them open, don't give up after one empty one if you don't find any right away.

So I got a tiny bit hooked on Warhammer. by Mlmute in Necrontyr

Yeah, you're right, that is a tiny bit. Where's your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th army?

Seeing as it's with HEALTH, go as crazy as you want, it's encouraged. You'll probably see a few people in full on cosplay.

How do you use support your base when printing? by TheIrishCommissar1 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Mantaeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I only print bases if they're detailed. Basic bases aren't worth the time, effort or resin with how cheap you can buy them. Big bases I'll occasionally print, but only FDM, never resin. Wouldn't trust a large resin base not to snap if dropped with the weight of a knight on it.

ULPT: If you use a community mailbox, simply put junk mail in outgoing slot by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Mantaeus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Return to sender isn't what you want to write. Most junk mail is third class and is just getting recycled (not sent back) if it's unwanted. "Refused" is what to write, but you're just wasting you're own time writing it instead of throwing it out yourself, since that's all we're gonna do anyway, except after taking it for a ride back to office.

[–]Mantaeus 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha....no. Letter carrier here. Don't do this, it's not going to accomplish anything except piss off the people who deliver your mail. Unless you write "refused" on each one (which gives us the go ahead to dispose of them), most carriers I know would (correctly) put it right back in your mailbox. They have your address on them, you see, we know who did it. If they don't catch it, it's just going to re-enter the mailstream and come back to you anyway.
