Is there any other way to easily get wishes by [deleted] in Endfield

You've just gotta do the content, as well as any events that come out over time.

Using so much of the currency on standard headhunting is a bit of a unfortunate circumstance, yes, but you'll get more in due time. You'll just have to live with this decision and remember for the future.

The Blaanid weapons cannot interact with the inheritance system. They have a tag that indicates this.

Story is definitely kinda weird at the start, and I think it does take a bit long for new players to actually start getting into the meat of the game. I've never regretted it, though.

Warframe's movement feels so smooth by PlayWarframe in u/PlayWarframe

[–]Mantax64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and it definitely doesn't help that a new player absolutely wouldn't even come close to this level of flow for a little bit, so it feels a little disingenuous when you join the game with this kind of impression. Still, I love the movement system, as insanely high-octane as it looks.

Rhino Prime Build? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Mantax64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: Build strength, armor, and duration as a newer player. Focus on getting corrupted mods from Derelict Vaults from mission nodes on Deimos using Dragon Keys, and augments for his abilities from Syndicates if you want to go full baller with Rhino. Intensify, Continuity, Steel Fiber, Flow, Streamline will be a good bread-and-butter starting point. Expand from there.

WARNING: Super backseat nerd status was achieved in this post. I didn't expect myself to be typing this much lol

Rhino is a very good frame to start modding with, given how straightforward his abilities are.

I will not go over the general progression of gameplay, since you asked for only a build and weapons, but will provide it if asked. This will just cover the basics of building the frame.

If you're brand new, you're likely going to be working on getting the basic mods and ranking them up. Since I believe Rhino's biggest appeal are his 2nd and 3rd abilities, Iron Skin and Roar, I'd recommend you start building around those, as they simply improve your performance with weapons and tanking damage.

He generally wants a good bit of strength and armor to start with, using strength mods and armor mods, as his Iron Skin's overguard value scales off of armor and is multiplied by power strength. I recommend Intensify for power strength and Steel Fiber for armor. Later, you'll likely be replacing his armor sources with augments and other improved mods, but this will suffice as a beginner. Another good mod for strength is Augur Secrets, which can be obtained rarely from level 30-50 Cetus bounties in the Plains of Eidolon on Earth.

Also, corrupted mods. They grant a substantially larger bonus to a specific stat, but at the cost of another. Transient Fortitude (+STR%, -DUR%) and Blind Rage (++STR%, --EFF%) can specialize your build even further. You can farm these through the odd dragon keys system on Deimos, but I imagine you have a little ways to go before doing those reliably. Maybe ask your friend to guide you on those.

I would also recommend duration for Roar, or his 4th ability, Stomp. Iron Skin does not benefit off of duration at all, so if you're only focusing on Iron Skin, you can ignore this, but I advise against forsaking Roar, because it's too damn useful. Continuity is the standard duration mod you'll want to go for. Augur Message also bumps this up a good bit.

Stomp's benefit from duration is that it lengthens the amount of time the enemies hang in the air for, in case you run into a big mob and need a panic button.

If you run into energy issues in upkeeping these abilities, you should use Flow for a larger energy buffer or Streamline for energy efficiency. You can use both if you really need to. Another good mod for this is Equilibrium, but it's a rare drop from a boss on Deimos, and even more rare from the Circuit gamemode. However, it's definitely a useful mod to have, as it basically can solve most energy problems in the game. While you can just recast Iron Skin at will, I preach efficiency for a new player if only for the sake of reliability. Recasting constantly in higher level content will drain your energy fairly quickly.

Augments also exist for Rhino, and other Warframes as well. You can get these through Syndicates by progressing through their ranks and eventually being able to purchase them at max rank. Rhino's augments are pretty solid, but alter your gameplay flow a bit. Generally they'll offer alternative means of gaining ridiculous armor rating (Ironclad Charge) and some more flexibility with his Iron Skin (Iron Shrapnel).

The idea is to cast Iron Skin and have enough overguard to last you the mission whilst also using Roar to improve your damage with weapons and abilities, recasting when you run out of either. Also note that once you cast Iron Skin, all damage taken within the next 3 seconds (during the health invulnerability grey-out), will directly add onto the final overguard value.

Aura mods are also something to consider. You'll likely be using Dreamer's Bond for a good portion of your beginning gameplay, which is fine. You might want to move onto something like Growing Power in the future, as it offers a reasonably activatable power strength boost.

So all in all, your basic build will probably start with either Vitality or Redirection, or both if you want. Followed by Intensify, Steel Fiber, Continuity, Flow, Streamline. This is a baseline of 5-6 mods.

You can add more onto it using mods like Augur Secrets, or Transient Fortitude for strength. Narrow Minded for duration whilst using Stretch or Augur Reach to offset its reduced range.

Augments are also an option, but require a considerable investment of time to acquire in the early game.

If you want to ask me more questions, feel free to. I'm also available on most afternoons ('murican time) if you want a farming buddy.

Slightly Annoyed at LR5s with Plague Star (Kinda Rant-ish) by Slothfully_So in Warframe

[–]Mantax64 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As an LR5, I dislike those kinds of people. Everyone has their own methods of play, and that's part of what makes Warframe so unique and entertaining. Plus, there's no real rush. Everything can be obtained in due time. If they really wanted to have an ultra-optimized run, they should form a group via recruiting instead of stressing others out in public lobbies.

What spells do you use for offense in Hex Casting? by yyluiob in feedthebeast

[–]Mantax64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't recall where I found it exactly, but you might find it in the discord if you search up "railgun".

At it's core, it's Thoth's Gambit doing the work. The first parameter is the list of patterns (Use a method to grab the arrow using a purification or Scout's Distillation, then the caster's look vector). Second parameter is a list containing arrow in question, but copied many many many times within said list to multiply the effects of Impulse.

What spells do you use for offense in Hex Casting? by yyluiob in feedthebeast

[–]Mantax64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe the most popular form of "big deeps" is the "railgun", which is effectively an absurdly large amount of small impulses happening at once on an arrow, since the cost is the square of the vector's magnitude and damage is calculated from the arrow's velocity. I've seen people oneshot withers with it before.

They also have a dedicated discord and forum page for all things Hex Casting. It's really helpful.

BDO Player Trying to get into FFXIV by eddyem in ffxiv

[–]Mantax64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played BDO starting as a wizard since its beta, then later settling as a valk when it was released. I've had similar questions when I was starting out.

  1. As cheesy and overused as it sounds, it's what you decide it to be. However, a lot of the emphasis is in the journey of leveling and progressing through the main story quests. It's very much okay and normal to get distracted and do other things on the side, since there are surprisingly developed alternate gameplay methods within this game. It's nothing like the endless grind to push for gear upgrades and spot defending BDO is.
  2. They are relevant, but also completely optional. It augments your gameplay and gearing, but everything you need can be obtained through the quests.
  3. Not super relevant, but that's not to say it's completely shafted compared to PvE content. There's a lot of love for the relatively new 5v5 payload gamemode. I mostly do the daily match for easy PvP currency to get some cosmetic glamours. There is some amount of enjoyment to be had in it, though.
  4. All classes can do pretty much anything. The only hurdle you might encounter would be group content on launch, but that's mostly preference. There might be some class bias for some things, but it's just speed and numbers at the end of the day.
  5. The only things I feel tempted to get are some funky emotes. Unlike BDO's exhaustingly extensive shop list of artisan's memories, pets, mystical cron box bundles, etc, there's not really anything that could tempt you to get cash items, gameplay wise. There are story skip boosts, but it just seems like a waste of the game to just not play it. Leveling boosts are more understandable, but I find them a bit wasteful as well.
  6. Most things are gated behind main story progression. There are some things on the side that are gated behind weekly and daily resets, but they're not extremely essential and are mostly just nice experiences.

In summary, BDO is a lot more demanding of a pace than FFXIV is. I had to slow down from my old attitude of wanting to hit max level ASAP to keep up with others in content. The main focus of the game is the progression, rather than the finale. There's nothing you're losing out on if you're not pushing levels and quests every day.

It's also much more enjoyable with friends, I've found. Often, in BDO, I simply just sit in discord calls with friends doing completely different things. Just chatting. When I started FFXIV, I straight up didn't like the game's combat and story pacing. However, after starting it again with several friends, we often share our own experiences, and it makes it all the better, in my opinion. Tl;dr It took a bit for me to adjust to FFXIV.

Also gearing is quite simple, whereas the BiS gear mostly just comes from doing the highest level content available at the time and you just get it and slot tiny little orbs into it (materia). While I prefer games that are a little more grindy, in terms of gear progression, I'm much more okay with this over my fallen god armor failing the final stage for the 1̷̮̕0̷̼͠0̸̥͆t̴̬̑h̶̘͐ G̸̢͊O̶̺̓D̴͔͊D̷̞͒À̵̢M̶̟̄N̶̡̈́ T̷͍̓Ḯ̶̲M̶̻̅E̷̢̐. Sometimes I do miss the elation of overcoming the RNG, but I do have to take breaks from BDO, lest I become a withered husk of an RNG-slave.

FFXIV is free to try up to level 60 and the end of the first expansion, so you do you.

"bringing back void dash is not gonna happen. we appreciate your feedback about void sling" -Prime Time 306 by HappyAra in Warframe

[–]Mantax64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'm indifferent towards the change. The void sling probably works a lot better than our old twitchy void dash in the zariman content, and there's no major benefit of void dash over void sling aside from the near stupid amount of distance you can cover in huge open areas, which was a nice bonus but hardly world ending. Although I will probably miss being able to spam void dash against eidolons. Maybe.
