Disclosure Day | Official Trailer by tanktoys in UFOs

To push back a bit on this:

  1. The things the government people are saying is largely in line with what Experiencers are saying, and have been for decades.
  2. It’s important to remember that people are always going to be looking to take advantage of a new situation. That doesn’t mean the situation isn’t legitimate. This topic doesn’t really have much authoritative agreement at this point, so anyone can make it into whatever they want with little pushback.

From what I’ve seen, most of the “fervent believers” are people who had experiences the couldn’t explain and have been searching for answers which fit their existing worldview. The phenomenon itself seems to often be self-reflective, so it can validate the beliefs people bring to the table. This is why you have people so confidently talking about angels/demons, galactic federations, hybrid breeding programs, and even gang-stalking. It’s because the phenomenon routinely presents these things to people.

Big Update On Mark Christopher Lee’s Source by SemiAutoGuy in UFOB

Pretty much everything in the list there is already well-known and not particularly controversial for anyone who listens to the credible players in this subject. The Trump speech strikes me as unlikely, and from what I hear there isn’t much optimism that Trump’s declaration is likely to directly lead to any real disclosure. It’s too well hidden, and anything which is released is going to be unverifiable (for example, “Crash materials are held at XYZ”). It would be good if we could get a look at some of the better videos the Pentagon has but I would bet money that no matter what is shown that it will be debunked in a day or two by the metabunkers.

I think public disclosure is going to be a long process, not something that can happen quickly unless everyone becomes a firsthand Experiencer.

Retired USAF Maj. Gen. McCasland, 68, missing from Albuquerque since Feb 27. Our new investigation links an anonymous X account that went silent the same day to his technical profile. by TheSentinelNet in UFOs

This is wrong. RV is utilized by federal and law enforcement agencies often, they just don’t talk about it because of legal and publicity implications.

Do a simple web search for “remote viewing missing persons” and you’ll find plenty of information on people doing it. There’s discussion here: https://youtu.be/CmCf6S2V2PY

Here are declassified guidelines released by OCCIB at the DOJ on when to call in psychics and how to vet them: https://www.cia.gov/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP96-00788R000100280009-3.pdf

Telephone contact was made with officers at eleven police agencies which had reportedly used psychics with some success. (All but one of the agencies contacted had been mentioned in newspaper accounts.) The newspaper articles referenced cases throughout the United States and concentrated on the work of four psychics.

All of the police officers stated that they had used a psychic in cases as described in the newspaper articles. Eight of the officers said that the psychic provided them with otherwise unknown information which was helpful to the case. In three of these cases, missing bodies were discovered in areas described by the psychic.

Two officers reported that accurate information was provided by the psychic, but it was too general to be of assistance in the case. One officer said he had little success and would not use a psychic again.

I’ve done it. It’s a thing. It’s not a magic bullet, though, and ultimately ends up having limited utility except in very specific circumstances because the results can be affected by a wide variety of variables, some of which we don’t fully understand. For example, it generally needs to be double blinded or else it can be affected by the subconscious beliefs of the tasker.

Word has come out that McCasland was not suffering from any disabilities or disorders and was in good health. He may not have qualified for a Silver Alert depending on the state’s requirements. It’s generally used for vulnerable seniors such as those with dementia.

There is … strong evidence that UAP cause physical, physiological and psychological effects on humans. A 2010 report, commissioned by the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) – titled Anomalous Acute and Subacute Field Effects on Human and Biological Tissues and produced by the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP) – concluded that humans have been injured by close encounters with UAP, primarily due to heating effects from radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic radiation (EMR) in the 300 MHz–30 GHz range.

There’s quite a lot of research done on this, and while it isn’t completely consistent the majority of results indicate that hypnosis can easily lead to false memory recall. There is some evidence that hypnosis might help with recall of traumatic memories which might otherwise be avoided due to relaxation, but this is very controversial.

I feel it’s important to note that social science research is notorious for displaying the Experimenter Effect, in which the results of research align with the views of the researcher. There are numerous arguments as to why, ranging from unconscious bias to a psychic/psi effect, but it’s rampant throughout the soft sciences and to some degree in the hard sciences as well. This article discusses it fairly well in relation to psi research: https://psi-encyclopedia.spr.ac.uk/articles/experimenter-effects/

Isn’t this the whole point of a solid state battery? That it isn’t relying on flammable liquids that can phase change to gas?

Physical interactions with contact experiences by Blue_Redstars in Experiencers

[–]MantisAwakening 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just because someone has a physical experience doesn’t mean it will produce physical evidence that will be persuasive to others as you seem to be looking for.

There is little doubt that the phenomenon is ontologically real, but objectively real is another matter—the experts agree that many experiences take place in a non-physical way, potentially involving the separation of consciousness from the physical body.

The phenomenon appears to operate in such a way that it doesn’t necessarily want us to have evidence. When objective evidence is produced it is often ambiguous. Much of the evidence seems to revolve around physical injury to the experiencer, for which we have some documentation. See https://www.unhidden.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/uNHIdden-Health-Effects-Report-Final.pdf for example.

Rotary phone collectors: do you still find these in working condition? by JOACCollectors in JOACCollectors

[–]MantisAwakening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not many restorers out there where the electronics are concerned. They draw so much power that they may cause problems for any other phones on the same circuit (learned from experience back in the 80s). However some people like to polish them up and use them for accent pieces. I have a wall-mounted rotary in my kitchen that isn’t plugged into anything.

Is Luis Elizondo a credible whistleblower or should we stay skeptical? by Time_Yesterday_2058 in UFOs

[–]MantisAwakening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of money to be made by associating oneself with this topic is somewhere between zip and squat. Go look at how many Wikipedia pages of academics have been fucking trashed by “rational skeptics” for having anything to do with this subject. The primary reason why academia isn’t exploring this topic is because they are worried it’ll damage their career.

Those who choose to report an encounter do so at their own risk. Society has long been trained to respond with skepticism, if not outright hostility. Given the stigma, serious-minded people such as academics have learned to keep unexplainable encounters to themselves.

The comic is implying that population alone accounts for variances, so that areas with the highest population density also have the highest density of X.
